oh hell. I send in my timesheet for the week to new boss and it shows me leaving 2 days before 5 - which I did, because the guys in the office said, "let's go, nothing is going on". I do not have office keys or keys to the gates for the property, so I cannot be the last to stay and honestly I do not want to be there alone. But boss was all "you are leaving before 5?!?!!?" I tried to explain it, but his response was, "you do not answer to those guys". fuck. now have to have a talk on Monday.

msbelle, I bristle on your behalf at bosses who seem to be reacting rather than communicating. Ask him for keys? I mean, to say "in order to meet your expectations, X, Y, and Z need to happen first." Which sucks if he meets your bluff, but if ensuring safety for his employees is an issue, let him try and explain it to your face.

I plan on telling him almost precisely that, ita. The thing is, he told me he lets people go early if there is nothing to do on a day.....but....I also know he got burned by the previous employee coming in late and leaving early. Still, if he wants me to stay there when I have no work to do since I do not know how to do anything yet, then he at least needs to get me keys.
