On my seventh birthday, I wanted a toy fire truck, and I didn't get it, and you were real nice about it, and then the house next door burnt down, and then real firetrucks came, and for years I thought you set the fire for me. And if you did, you can tell me!

I wish I'd worn shoes & socks instead of flip flops. Hospitals are chilly.

Just waiting for tests, now. She seems fine, or fine as she ever is, but I'm not a doctor.

I hope I don't have any meetings scheduled for today...

FWIW, you CAN wear loose socks with flipflops, if you indent the sock toe between your toes. So you might slide by the gift shop and see if they have any?

As for meetings -- this is for the job you're leaving? Parental sick time trumps it....

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

I hope your mom's ok, Consuela.

Woo new job scrappy!!

Frank, look at the bright side -- with your stuff in storage, you'll only have to pack it ONCE. And yeah, it will give you time to look carefully for something closer than Amesbury.

If you want to do anything like a packing party, let me know. I'm jobfree so have the time....

And yay for scrappy's first day!

Shoot me now. There's nothing wrong with her that years of therapy and a decent workout regimen wouldn't have prevented. She's crazy & abusive, argh.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Yikes, Consuela. I hope you're reading this in the future. Not Australia-future, just not 7:12 Pacific present.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

I hope you are sleeping the sleep of the just, Consuela. And have some crisis-free time in the near future.

Our wings are not tired.

There's nothing wrong with her that years of therapy and a decent workout regimen wouldn't have prevented.

This is reason number one that I am stepping up my game now at 59. I don't want my DH or kids to have to deal with preventable stuff.

Suela, I hope you have a stream of pleasant surprises this week for some balance.
