I am the fly who dreams of the spider

Dad drove me to work, then headed back toLong Island to move grams to the nursing home. I walk the twenty minutes to the train station just now, only to discover that I left my purse and wallet back at work (with my bail cash in it!). I want to cry, so instead I'm resting my feet and whining before slogging back.

Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

True. But is there a step between steering wheel and self driving cars? We're pretty accustomed to having a steering wheel in our hands the entire time we're driving. It makes us feel in control.

Fandom means never having to say "But where would I wear that?"

Timelies all!

Another fun day at Malice. Soon we will go out for dinner and Iron Man 3.

Man, I am sorry, Julie. You are trying so hard to fix this responsibly.

And now I missed my train and have to wait an hour because the end of the train I was waiting at didn't have its doors open. Life has reached the hilarious point.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

FTR, the recipe I used for today's proof of concept coffee popsicle:

3T water 2t sugar 1t instant espresso

Bring to a boil, whisk together. Add

1T cream

Whisk. Refrigerate until cool. Pour in molds. Freeze. Yum.

Going forward, I plan on using cold-brewed coffee concentrate and I will experiment with Splenda, but pretty much keep the proportions the same. Well, probably go up to a full 1/4 C of coffee concentrate, the 3T version was a little scant in the mold.

Fella's a good boy dealing with a lot of change. He forgot he was afraid of me a couple of times, that was nice! Walter is now sacked out on his own doggy bed.

Our wings are not tired

However, despite ND having owned two keyless cars, a quick random look at car features didn't show any mandatory keyless models (you can get Focus with or without) or that many with even the option. Keys may have an expiry date, but being mortal and being dying are two different nuances.

I'm pretty certain that the entire BMW product line is now keyless, they just use the transponder, at the lowest end you have to dock it, but not use it like a key.

The entire Prius line uses transponders.

Most Chrysler products (Jeep, Chrysler, Dodge) use a hybrid. There is no actual key, but you still put it into a slot and turn it like a key. Some of them are moving towards keyless and start buttons.

Kia and Hyundai both offer keyless push button start as an option on most of their product lines.

Those are the ones I know off the top of my head.

Ok, why are all my favorite story programs (The Signal, Snap Judgement) making me bawl today?

Just finished part one of margarita-fueled cleaning. I find this amusing to do once it gets to the point in the seasons where I work up a sweat. Sadly, part 2 comes tomorrow morning, and that's a little early for me to hit the sauce, even for cleaning. Especially since so much shit didn't get done today, despite my best efforts.

I have succeeded in achieving no litterboxes on the first floor. Hopefully, I can get it down to just one upstairs, since I don't currently have any protest poopers, that I know of, but proceeding slowly.

Eating market asparagus and shiitakes that I added a smidge of red wine to when sautee-ing the 'shrooms. Tastier than last week!

On to the next task...

If you have to dock the transponder, I don't consider it keyless. I mean, it's not a traditional key but if I can't leave it in my purse, it's not keyless.

Mom just got a new Prius and is very pleased. I just lent her one of my iPods because she's travelling for the next ten days, driving and can't figure out where her audiobooks of all of the Harry Potters are and I have them on it. Totally love the integration. Except I think I might have just lost custody of my iPod. And a cord because hers was making the audio stutter. I should maybe go price some refurbished ones for her. And find one of my spare cords because it's one of my charging areas that I use almost daily. Still, I am a tech god to her *and* hooked her up with Harry Potter, so go me.

Nice!

I have two boxes and one cat but she's had zero litterbox issues here and they're side-by-side (one World's Best and one non-clumping clay) so we're keeping them.

It is so smoky outside. If this is one of the fires I know about, it's very bad. If it's one I don't know about, it's also bad because our fire crews are already spread way too thin battling awful conditions.
