We didn't have sex, if that's what you mean. That's all I do now, not have sex.

Back tattoos of the mother is that you are absolutely right - Ame

Yesterday we got close to a foot of snow. The roads didn't get too bad yesterday thanks to the heat over the weekend but got icy overnight.

The sun is out today but it is barely over freezing. I turned my heat off over a week ago and I don't want to turn it on again. I have the fireplace and am under a blanket, plus I have socks on (I NEVER wear socks). I'm considering adding another layer.

Days shrink and grow cold, sunlight through leaves is my song. Winter is long.

Oh, the chattiness of men of a certain age. Hubby will talk the ear off perfect strangers,

My entire married life has been,"I too know the love of a laconic man." I learned my own counsel to keep, to find other outlets for my chatty (hello, outlet!), and grew used to a house where quiet contemplation was the norm. All of a sudden, he's gone chatty on me. I don't have enough breathing room to rub two thoughts of my own together to make a spark, and it's rare that I can actually complete a sentence these days without being enthusiastically interrrupted and the conversational thread unwound like Jeffy in The Family Circus fetching a bucket of water. Who are you? And what have you done with my taciturn man?

I don't really have anything to say about the content, but I really love the language in this paragraph, especially your use of metaphor and simile.

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

Ahahahaha! I would be the scold in 1930 saying "stop using 'contact,' you hippie-dippy weirdos!" BUSTED.

I would have too! ""Contact" is not a verb! Just say "communicate"!"

msbelle, 1.5 weeks will go fast, especially with nasty-boss not around!

Someone make my yowling cat shut up. He wants to go Outside and he cannot.

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

What Polgara said.

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

Bev's writing is a thing of beauty.

I haven't trusted science since I saw the film "Flubber."

My mother had her MRI this morning (which went fine with Valium), and the results show nothing else, no other spread, so I think it's the best possible news. (Other than "Whoops, just kidding about that cancer.")

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

Good news, Dana.

Yup, I always love what Bev has to say and how she says it.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Phew, Dana.

See? I gave everybody here an opportunity to tell me what a bad person I am and nobody did, because I fuckin' rule.

Good news is very good, Dana! What a relief for your mom and all your family.
