I don't care if it is an orgy of death, there's still such a thing as a napkin.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

My personal theory of business jargon is that in your average desk job there are only, like, ten conversations you're likely to ever have with a fellow business person, and everytime we get bored repeating ourselves we just invent another bullshit jargony way of saying the exact same thing.

Because books.

I don't think you understand the true importance of Chunky soup, Tep.

OMG, the Royals are at the top of their division. I've been busy with the new job and life and such and hadn't noticed. It's hard to even process the Royals having a winning record, much less to be at the top. On the one hand, it's awesome that they're doing so well. On the other hand, it's a bummer than the first sign of the apocalypse has come to pass. Invest for the short term.

You were a wrong baby who grew up wrong. The wrong kind of wrong. It's better you hear it from a friend.

My current language pet peeve: what's the deal with "reach[ed] out to"? When did "contact" fall out of favor and get replaced by this feel-good bullshit phrase? (As in "We reached out to the manager of the grocery store to find out when Chunky soup would be back on the shelves." Really? "Reached out to"??? You're not trying to establish detente, here.)

I would, however, approve its usage if one could prove that one is a giant squid.

Just steer clear of the livers of carnivores.

We have vegans on the board, right?

I like reached out to. I used it today twice in two different conversations about two separate topics. The first being recruitment of non slacker students to our school and the second being pressuring students to take AP classes. In both instances, the program is trying to reach out to new students. It sounds better than strong arm.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

I thought the polar bear liver toxicity thing was particular to polar bears (too much vitamin E) and not a general carnivore thing, or even bear thing.
