I love your porch, Beverly. My grandmother collected amber glass, so I always look for it at garage sales and curiosity shops. I like yours with the cast iron a lot!
I have changed my sheets (not entirely because y'all mentioned that today) - take that To Do List!
I need to change mine, as well. Maybe tomorrow.
Thanks, -t. H worked really hard last summer revamping the front of the house, adding steps to the porch. The blinds were an inexpensive way to reduce the sun and heat, and add privacy.
I can't wait to get the pots in the walled bed out front. My landscape design neighbor is advising me on what grows well here.
My laptop is back!
I was so excited to get it I somehow uttered "Let's go get Mummy!" as I scooped up my phone and tablet into my bag to head to the Apple Store.
Kat, I wish there were enough squares for woo bingo! I think the guy is pointlessly dogmatic on some fronts (some criteria are not red flags unless they exist in isolation, or with others--I don't think "other people say it worked" is on its own a red flag, unless it is entirely on its own, you know?
But those are some fun comments! Gotta love outrage on any side of the this argument--well, as long as it's not impacting herd immunity or otherwise damaging the community.
Okay, now day can be done.
OK, so what should I get at the Vitamin Shoppe to make sure I get a good night's sleep? I have tried valerian and melatonin, to little or no effect. Anything else I can try?
I'm considering a sledgehammer. Night before last was terrors. Last night was insomnia that wouldn't budge for anything and I've felt like ass all day.

Medical marijuana. Which I'm pretty sure you can't get at the Vitamin Shoppe. But whoo, MMJ tinctures have made a WORLD of difference to my sleep.
But in terms of useful suggestions: 5HTP and calcium have helped people with sleeping issues. (They didn't do much for me, but my insomnia issues are tough ones.)
mr. flea and I just started watching Downton Abbey (we're slow, okay?) And the only problem is, every time I see Lord Grantham I keep imagining him with his hand on Jesse's shoulder.
That is hilarious and awesome.
-t, would passing the exam change whether you'd want/take this job?

Crap, clearly I moved out of Washington at the wrong time.
In other words, hello, 4AM.
Congratulations to both msbelle and GC!
So I loaded up on strategically-timed melatonin and valerian (I forgot what all the other suggestions were when I got to the store!) and fell asleep early! Awesome. Except I did wake up at 4, but THEN I fell back asleep! Am feeling 90%, which is plenty.
FWIW, muscle relaxants help me sleep, probably because my muscles get loose enough that my mind follows suit.
Gentle exercize -- earlier in the day -- also promotes better sleep, likewise because the worked-out muscles release hormones or whatever that tells the body to shut it down.
