Oh Erika.
My father called me at 6:30 Monday morning to tell me that:
A, his phone was broken (yeah, I don't know)
B, he hurt his hand and needed me to tell my sister he needed her to take him to the VA that afternoon
C, he had already sent her a text message to that effect
D, because he couldn't call her because his phone was broken.
brenda, wow. What can you even say to that?
Conversations with my father can make your head spin sometimes.
And yes, he had texted her so it was all under control.
Logged back into work for the first time since last week. I'm already irritated!
And I think I'm trapped in the apartment for the moment -- husband has the only gate access fob.
Welcome back, Dana!
I understand that some people (and possibly more people will small children) are up at all hours, but that does not at all seem like a safe assumption to make! (I even hesitated to call my parents at ass o'clock, even when I knew we were all leaving for the airport within a half-hour or so.)
6:00 AM is early. Not at our household, where we've been up and going, but for normal people.
I am oddly charmed by GHWB's pink socks in the picture of all the presidents at the GWB library dedication. [link] I didn't realize he was in a wheelchair.
Kat,
he has been wearing spectacular socks since he has been in the wheelchair. He has used it for a few years. I think he might be in it all the time now. I believe all of his visits to Obama in the WH have been with a wheelchair.
In his interview with Diane Sawyer, Bush the younger referred to his dad as "sprinting to the grave," which didn't come out quite the way he intended, I imagine.
I had no idea W. was in a wheelchair, either.
