See? I gave everybody here an opportunity to tell me what a bad person I am and nobody did, because I fuckin' rule.

Oh, man, Julie, that whole thing sucks.

Augh, I'm weary. Also, I'm on a jury. At least it's likely to be both interesting and short (my big nightmare is getting trapped like one of my poor college friends did - flew home for the summer after a tumultuous freshman year, got called to jury duty her second week back, and ended up on the jury for an intellectual property dispute between two large corporations that lasted 7+ weeks; we talked just after they had finally, finally reached a verdict and been released, and she said, "They were boring and nasty and we hated both of them and if we could've voted everyone in the entire case guilty we would have").

I was safe until 3:30 - at 2:30 Juror #1 admitted that he is a strong proponent of jury nullification, and the judge first thanked him courteously for his candor and then kicked him briskly to the curb and lectured everyone else in the room about how it's not a bad idea necessarily, but it's a complex idea, and as this is neither a debate club, Nazi Germany nor the segregation-era American South it's not the time or place to get into it, and please don't do it again because it's 2:30, we've gone through 20+ potential jurors, and at this point debating PhD-level theoretical scenarios is just wasting everyone's time.

Then the fire alarm went off and they had to evacuate the entire building (SF County Superior Court, 7 stories) for an hour. Then we all trooped back in, and they called my damned name.

The rest of the week should be interesting, anyway.

All sorrows can be borne if you put them into a story. Tell me a story.

Shrift, are you an executive life ruiner now?

People have been singing "We Are The World" all afternoon and evening.

Life moves pretty fast. You don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.

TAL did a segment last week on ASMR [link] At the end of it, I turned to J and said, "Wait, are you telling me you don't have that tingly sensation when someone whispers or speaks quietly in an accent? I thought everyone did." This totally explains why I saw every episode of Bob Ross painting. So, how many Buffistas get that feeling? I am going to try using some of these youtube videos when going to sleep and see what that does.

hip deep in pie

I couldn't take a whole minute of that video. I wanted to run screaming everytime she put her hands near the camera.

That video is definitely creepy, but this one puts me into a tingley trance. [link] I could listen to this ALL DAY.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Does nothing for me, good or creepy.

I just heard mention of gooey butter cake, paired with toasted ravioli. Now that sounds like something I could get behind.

just as bad, like I want to scratch my arms to make it stop, cause it makes them and the back of my shoulders like unable to be comfortable. you can't understand it and it is so quiet, it is in and out, and i just turned my volume up to 11 and still couldn't make it out clearly. maddening. so yeah, not ASMR - possibly the anti-ASMR.
