'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

Have fun, David!

I went out and did a bunch of little errands like CVS run for my prescription, and the supermarket, saw my fellow citizens out enjoying the day and working off a little cabin fever, I think. I feel absurdly patriotic today, and especially proud of Massachusetts today. It may not sound like a hell of a big contribution, but staying inside so that the police could get their manhunt on without more complications really did contribute to public safety. And the local government(s) and various police entities kept communicating to tell us what was going on.

At this point, it looks like a bunch of planning and pragmatic decisions paid off, maybe not in the way they expected (note to self, make it a TWENTY-ONE block sweep next time) but when you really don't know if there's a bomber with an unknown amount of ordinance leaving little gifts around, you've got to err on the side of public safety.

It wasn't wasted effort -- it wasn't security theatre.

All sorrows can be borne if you put them into a story. Tell me a story.

Mt. Auburn Street was a tangle of liquid blue lights, wavering in the air.

Not the point, I know, but this is beautiful imagery from Mr. Pierce.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I have fandom challenge pictures to complete this weekend. One is done. That is a good start. But Spartacus wasn't a good choice to marathon as I draw because TENSION.

My mother's restriction of our eating was...fuck, she's an amazing cook. And she runs a good kitchen, when she has someone else doing it. My father is pretty picky, so sometimes he'd get "bored" and then it was West African food for a week.

I think in England we did get to eat some store-bought meal components, like croquettes (fuck I loved them), but not a wide range.

Life moves pretty fast. You don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.

Having been on Hec's tour, I can say that there will be a lot of happy LA folk out there today.

ION, I have an interview next week! For a job I really want! They have offered me several possible slots and I am trying to figure out which one to take. Do I want an early slot, when they are fresh, or a late slot so I leave them with fantastic memories?

information libertarian

Early. Late, now matter how awesome you are, they could be burned out.

See? I gave everybody here an opportunity to tell me what a bad person I am and nobody did, because I fuckin' rule.

YAY. Got a response already. Most excellent (if the person actually shows up).

eta: Stupid fucking maintenance guy also cut down a crapload of dead branches from the loquat and dropped them on the ferns, crushing them all. SEETHE.

I remember the crazy days. 500 posts an hour. Nubmer! Natgbsb

My brain is overwhelmed with thought of what needs doing.things I want to do:

change bed (ok this is half done)
yardwork
making shopping list
list things on ebay
knit (dishrags are ragged)
deposit checks
clean litterboxes
file
switch out clothes

I can't decide where to start.

Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

It wasn't wasted effort -- it wasn't security theatre.

That's always a good thing to read and think about.

My day ought to include 1-2 loads of laundry, dishes (did them, but then I made more), general straightening, sweeping the downstairs & vacuuming the rugs.

And going out to see a movie. Oblivion opened yesterday, I think?

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

msbelle, clean out the litterboxes and then switch out your clothes.
