My brother was all cavities. I was not until 20. I had teeth a few years ago that were just this side of saving with crowns rather than extraction/implant. It's not you, it's genes and environment and who the fuck knows.

Sara, even if it's genetics then it's still my fault! How does that not hurt? Grace's teeth are covered with a nice shield of tartar and plaque build up which protects from cavities. No. Seriously. She has no cavities.

Greece's financial crisis threatens to take down all of Western civilization - a civilization they themselves founded. A rather tragic irony - which is something they also invented. - Jon Stewart

Other parents can weigh in, but I thought dairy was the worst possible thing you could eat. I think a potato is okay, but no dairy on it.

Everyone seems to say that and its probably true for most people... but just about always the first thing my bad tum wants after carbs is some dairy.

Blame YOUR parents. That's what I & my dentist do.

Grace, well. Maybe because of nfbm or whatever the acronym, for so long, she doesn't have the evil bacteria that do cavities.

Nah. Tubie kids usually have terrible teeth because saliva from eating is different than general saliva and good for teeth (as Mary Roach notes in her new book).

About the hurting thing, I meant, how does his tooth not hurt!

So Legoland is doing a themed Lego hotel.

Will you be able to take the furniture apart and make something different?

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I left work after 7:30 today. A fair amount of that was an extended bitch/brainstorming session about IT in general and my group in specific, but the CIO meeting was pressure-filled enough that I volunteered to be back in the office tomorrow because I didn't know if I could keep up over the phone.

I am being afforded ridic opportunities here (New Director is requesting my time with him be extended) and I'm nervous I won't keep my head above water, much less capitalise. God, there's so much to capitalise on here. Increasing my knowledge of our business, of our clients' business, face time with top execs, inside knowledge about plans, projects, plots, etc.

I need to focus on how I didn't luck into this, so I don't self-sabotage, but I am hoping my yella is high enough that my anxiety-flushing wasn't actually apparent to anyone else in our later meeting.

Shit, I have to work out my favourite fairy tell. Well, no, I already know it, but I don't know what it's called or what the text is...does anyone know a Middle Eastern (did I lose you already) story about a thief who gets injured breaking into someone's house, and brings the owner up in court for damages, and everyone keeps passing the buck until it gets passed all the way up to God (via the beautiful woman who distracted the craftsman who was installing the window)? I think they might have settled for the man that dyed her dress instead.

Yeah, good luck ita ! Draw a pretty lady in a red dress and pretend you have a plan...

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

msbelle, Isaac still struggles with reflux (although a lot less now that we've switched him off cow milk), so for him being truly hungry a few hours after throwing up is a real thing. But that's kind of special circumstances.

Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

I need to focus on how I didn't luck into this

You really didn't.

I often want something with dairy after feeling ill. I don't keep a lot of meat around by random default so I thought it was maybe needing fuel. If just a banana isn't going to work, I want something that feels more like food. I'd be a bad vegan.

Wow. Gabrielle Giffords unleashes on the senators who voted against background checks. [link]

I am asking every reasonable American to help me tell the truth about the cowardice these senators demonstrated. I am asking for mothers to stop these lawmakers at the grocery store and tell them: You’ve lost my vote. I am asking activists to unsubscribe from these senators’ e-mail lists and to stop giving them money. I’m asking citizens to go to their offices and say: You’ve disappointed me, and there will be consequences.
