What's important is what you decided to wear, you know.
YOU HAVE NO IDEA.
I went with a burgundy cotton knit peasant blouse and black jeans and cowboy boots with silver and garnet earrings. The director in the meeting was wearing a burgundy Polo shirt and black slacks, and the CIO was in a red/brown sweater and jeans, so we all looked very harmonious (as her admin assistant called out).
OMG, I keep forgetting how spicy the brains of our CIO are. I am a shameless fangirl. She dumped a large pile of work on my lap to be done by 3, but that's because of how much she did in the hour and a half we met.
And someone in my group I bumped into in the kitchen just now was all "You're working on the XYZ project? I heard you're meeting with the CIO today?" Uh, I never told anyone that...
Note to self: don't fuck up.
Okay. Right. Slides. They are definitely the currency of 2013 for me.
CNN is reporting that the FBI has identified a suspect in a video, but I don't see any other news sites confirming
AP is reporting that an arrest by Federal Marshals is imminent.
AP is reporting that an arrest by Federal Marshals is imminent.
The local news is saying the arrest has already happened.
Whenever you all say you're preparing slides, I picture you in a lab.
Signed,
Has Never Used PowerPoint
And now they're backing off the actual arrest announcement, but there is a news conference by the FBI scheduled for 5:00.
We are having one of the first nice, mild sunny days here. And by mild I mean 10C. It's been a cold spring.
Yeah, my coworkers and I ate lunch outside, and it's like 60F. Which I see is about 15C, so still warmer than you! But not that warm.
It's in the mid 80s here, and the trees have been getting freaky all over my car windows. It's going to be a bad spring for people with hay fever; I didn't think I had pollen allergies but even my nose is runny/stuffy from it.
Nice one, Raylan Givens.
(sorry, when I read "federal Marshals", I just stick him in there. I could picture him offering the man the chance to come with him, or be rendered asunder by Boston townspeople, seeing as how, you know, he gets paid either way, and he's very curious about this whole lobster roll thing while on his way out of town...lobster on a sandwich...can you believe it?)/Elmore Leonard likes carrots.
Sorry to poke my head and ignore ongoing conversations like this, but I can't skim over thousands of posts, and I really need to know (it's the first minute I had of being both awake and able to use a computer and having both hands free to type): are all "our" Boston-Buffistas OK? I watch the news and keep worrying (well, about all the victims, of course, but it's always so much harder when it's "close to home").
Thanks, you guys!
Everyone is, Nilly. What a relief! (Also, hi!!!)
