Aren't they something. They're like butterflies, or little pieces of wrapping paper blowing around.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Sheryl, I meant to say, sorry about all the maybe not terrible but still bad stuff that hit you yesterday, some of it literally. I'm glad to hear there may be some hazard mitigation coming out of it, at least.

Yeah, that pasta list is pretty darn full of wrongness.

I keep going out to look at the yard. But it is dark! I think I might get another tie to put by the sidewalk leading to the steps.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

Misread that as "not been a viable technique with bears."

Also good advice.

Life moves pretty fast. You don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.

But can you open a bear with a can opener?

OK, this might sound crazy, but I just saw that the third victim from the marathon is a BU student from China, and I feel like the three people really represent Greater Boston in some kind of important way -- the middle and working class areas and the universities.
