This isn't a come-on. I'm in a very serious relationship with a landscape architect.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Terror bombing may get you headlines, but by and large it makes your cause more unsympathetic.

I don't think they care about that. It's an act of defiance against a power they find oppressive.

In the realm of, "You're not the boss of me!"

And Al-Qaeda's goal with the 9/11 attack was to stir up a jihad, to goad the US into war against the Middle East which they thought would cause a popular uprising.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Uneasy about closing the computer down and going to bed.

Just do it. And take three ibuprofen and drink a lot of water and let sleep shut your brain down for 8 hours.

Thrive to spite them

From what information I've read this seems not about trying to kill as many people as possible but to hurt as many people as possible.

The bombs were at the ground, filled with ball bearings, and most of the injuries seem to be people's legs. But they were also set inside stores or near stores so the glass would blow out and hurt people (also potentionally kill people). But maybe whoever was behind this was trying to kill people and messed up.

I don't know the whole thing is so hard to understand.

Thrive to spite them

And something related but positive - I have a place to offer - a spreadsheet listing I don't know how many people offering places to stay, to clean up, something to eat, for those who need it.

Don't click through the slide show though, it includes pictures of those who were injured.

Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

You know, my faith in humanity is weakened by awful people but really I should place more focus in my heart on how damn generous and amazing humans can be as well. And in much greater numbers.

Greece's financial crisis threatens to take down all of Western civilization - a civilization they themselves founded. A rather tragic irony - which is something they also invented. - Jon Stewart

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

That sounds about right.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Soooo I may have just told all my Twitter followers about the Good Stuff Happens Today tumblr. It seemed like a good thing to point people at.

Aw, thanks!

I stopped looking at pictures early yesterday, and then woke up to screaming on the radio. Ugh.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

I work at a news archive, so...yeah. There are three televisions on within earshot of my desk that I can't turn off because it's our job to be paying attention to them.
