Oh, smacked in the noggin with a 2x4 wrapped in velvet. Yeah, that's what it felt like.

"And that's why God Almighty gave us fire insurance and the public defender".

My God, you guys. This is awful. I'm so sorry, and you're in my thoughts.

Now let us crush something soft and watch it fountain blood. That is a girlish thing to want to do, yes?

I was thinking domestic wingnut. Can't say why, really.

My first thought too. Patriot's day + race dedicated to Newtown + tax day + gun control debate currently going on... but I'm also trying really hard not to spin up the speculation machine until there's real information.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Is it the anniversary of the VA Tech shooting?

April 16, 2007, so more or less. The holiday is always the Monday.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

I was thinking that because of Sandy Hook people being there.

Something Something Gun Control? I wonder.

It's five thousand for kissing, ten thousand for snuggling... End of list.

Domestic wingnut here, too. Boston marathon seems so local, you know? Al Qaeda thinks subways, not Patriot's Day. It's barely an event that gets national coverage.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

Domestic wingnut or international terrorists doesn't matter right now. I find speculation on which flavor terrorism isn't good for my mental space, or my stomach. Ack! And later when we know for sure who it was? That's not gonna be any better.

Would some idiot(s) really want to use the Boston Marathon on tax day to make a statement?

It's Patriot's Day too, right?

Whoever it was, they did like to stack up the symbolism.

Thrive to spite them

I just remembered Will's sister and BIL are in Boston, I called him and he's been busy and hasn't heard about what is going on. He's going to call and check on them.

I don't know how this is going to sound, but I really hope none of the people from Newtown were hurt or killed. Not that I wish anyone else being hurt but just the families from there dont' need more tragedy.

Fandom means never having to say "But where would I wear that?"

Timelies all!

I almost feel bad about talking about this, considering the events in Boston..... my day kinda sucked. Started with me misjudging a rotary and hitting the curb. This led to me having a flat tire once I got to work. Once at work, the lid to the ice machine fell and hit me on the head. I have a cut just under my left eyebrow(it's been cleaned and glued shut) and a big scrape next to my left eye. Add to that a meeting with my boss where she tells me she's talked to the hr person about finding me a lab where my skill set would fit better. It's not immediate- there's no way of knowing if that position is out there, or how long things will take- but it's still bothersome.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."
