It's disproportionately freaking me out that someone who sees that animated GIF on the Post page will see someone they know collapsing, maybe injured.
My mother and I were just talking trash about someone last night who ran today and isn't an elite runner, so I'm kind of scared to look too close.

Well, that's good. The unexploded bomb that they already did a controlled explosion on was planted just past the finish line.
I don't know about the reports of finding two more bombs. I know they've got bomb sniffing dogs in the area, probably focused on the trash cans along the race route.

6 years ago on Marathon Monday a gunman killed 32 people at VA Tech. I spent the day frantically calling friends. Now doing it again. Scary.
Is it the anniversary of the VA Tech shooting?
Steph I am thinking domestic terrorism as well. But I'm sure some people are thinking it's an outside attack by Al Qaeda or something like that. So the security expert was trying to stress that 1) Homeland security hadn't picked up any international chatter about an attack and 2) we don't know that anywhere else is targeted.
Has any other source confirmed the NY Post's report of 12 dead?
The only official number form the Boston PD I've seen is 2 dead.
But I'm sure it's going to go up.
