I've seen honest faces before. They usually come attached to liars.

Life moves pretty fast. You don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.

Yikes, Zen. No problem like that with my in-laws. My FiL has alarms set on his watch for noon and 6pm, and if we aren't sitting at the table when it goes off, his bitching begins.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

I will have a meal with your FIL ANYTIME, Scrappy.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Oh, god, I just did my taxes and my AGI is even more negative than it was the previous year. This time I somehow get a refund. Two dollars! My financial life is ridiculous.

Clearly not ANY time, Jesse. Noon and 6pm!

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

And the arguments have begun. Lucky I already have whiskey.

BECAUSE THOSE ARE THE TIMES THAT LUNCH AND DINNER HAPPEN.

Well, I'm glad we got that sorted out.

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

Hey, is anyone going to be available for lunch/brunch/drinks around 1:30 next Saturday in Oakland?

Normally I would, but already I have a 10:00 hair appointment in Palo Alto that day.

I didn't do much of the cleaning I promised myself I would do today, but I got the kitchen clean. I also just pruned the heck out of my Japanese maple. I have no idea if I did it right, but the tree looks happier now, so I am counting it as a win.

I didn't hear back from two of the places I sent applications/emails (need to follow up on them), but I did from a third, so now I am filling out an application for Rupert [link]

Put the deck furniture out. Look at the sheen on it! [link] We'll see how 2 coats of oil holds up for the season. It's smooth as silk. So awesome.

"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

My parents almost always end up running late to meals (unless I'm the one driving them to them), but I know to be aiming for food 45 minutes or so after the stated time. And for some reason, luck of the draw has seen me with not much of an appetite the last few times we've gotten together for dinner. (Which was a crying shame on Easter dinner when my mom's ultra-nummy baked ham was the main course - I should have skipped breakfast that day!)
