Happy Turkey Day you turkeys!
My work has moved some union jobs here to rural areas and most of the people in them have refused to be relocated (as is their right), and now HR has to find vacant positions for them or bump already employed people if they have less seniority. It's all very political.
So an offer for voluntary resignation w. severance was waiting for me in my email this morning. If I want to resign, I could get a year's severance (including medical benefits and life insurance), but only if there was someone to fit in my position. Since we currently have two vacant positions they could slide people into, it's not likely that it would happen, but I have submitted my name. Eeee!
Holy crap, Sue -- a year! That would be amazing. What an opportunity to figure out what's next.

I know! This may be the answer to my miserable-in-my-job mid-life crisis. Like I said, it's not likely that I will be accepted, but this morning I am excited by the prospect.
The severance may only be for 8 months...the whole year's worth would be if they count my 4 years as a casual towards severance.
Whoa Sue! I hope things work out.
Hope everything works out, Sue!!
ION, I have my first lemon bundt cake in the oven! Let's hope it turns out well!
That's quite the news, Sue!
Things I never thought I'd have to say to a cat:
Stop eating the wall, Pumpkin.
Someone in the neighborhood is grilling their turkey outside.
I have showered, coffeed, and cerealed. I should really get started on pies. We should head over to the parents in about 2 hours. But parade!
Am showered, dressed, and ready. My ride will be here in about a half-hour. So that's good.
