Spike? It's you. It's really you! My therapist thought I was holding on to false hope, but…I knew you'd come back. You're like…you're like Gandalf the White, resurrected from the pit of the Balrog, more beautiful than ever. Oh…he's alive Frodo. He's alive.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

but now I don't want to waste being up, showered, dressed in outside clothes with makeup and hair and everything

You've got to find an excuse to show off your pretty to the world!

Check your local listings to see if there's some event worthy of your presence. Something where you can stroll about: garden show, car show, lawn bowling, lawn darts, champagne brunch al fresco (with book), bocce tournament, antique show...

Citrus trees sound awesome! What'll go into the planter?

Good call, David. So far I've eaten lunch (out, but not exciting) and gone to Lowe's because reading here reminded me I needed to buy a reel mower, which I did. Now I'm internetting at B&N so I can find something more fun to do. Actually, assembling the mower will probably be fun, but it can wait.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

I am in full-tilt spring cleaning mode today. Unfortunately I'm being so thorough I've only done about half of one room so far, but the master bedroom will soo be DUST FREE. My nose is displeased with this chore but I just keep reminding it how much better we'll sleep without all those dust bunnies behind the bed. And under the bed. And on the blinds. And on the ceiling fan blades. And on the books.

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

Yeah, I've got the spring cleaning bug too. I completely redid our media room/library, including moving furniture. The living room and dining room are straightened, but I'd not call it spring clean. And then I broke the mop, so I've got to replace that. Maybe I should go do that now.

No, I think paperwork sorting, deposit, breaking down cardboard, recycling sorting then buy mop. That way I can take the cardboard and recycling out when I go out to get the mop.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

I mowed the lawn! And filled the bird feeders and birdbath and watered the pots and pulled a few weeds from amongst the Cosmos. I should still edge the lawn, maybe after lunch but probably later in the week, really. Now that I have come inside and sat down I don't really want to go out again.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

I googled things to do with pesto last night, and one of the suggestions was to put it in a grilled cheese, and it was a good one!

I remember the crazy days. 500 posts an hour. Nubmer! Natgbsb

I am really not feeling better - skipped church, but went to Sunday School. E had a short playdate and I made some rice and some split yellow peas to go with Ethiopian Doro Wat I made earlier (not really made, there is a co. in Dallas that sells jars of pre-made sauces and I can now just slowly cook the chicken or lentils or whatever in the sauce. STill working out the best way, but even just slapping it on the chicken I get better results than me tryingit from scratch.).

I also listed something on ebay today, so I am hoping to get in a groove with that and get a small pile of things listed.

I'd like to work in the yard and my brain would like to work in the yard, but come tomorrow, I will be mad that the stuff that really needs doing (taxes, job apps, getting rid of clutter) will have gone undone. I am doing inside work today to avoid a shame spiral.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Can you do a little of both? Do one inside thing, then work in the yard, and do more inside things when it's dark?

Mmm, grilled cheese with pesto sounds divine!

Doing what ya gotta do to avoid feeling bad tomorrow about what you didn't do today is smart, msbelle.

Oh, god, taxes, I've got to do those soon. It won't even be complicated, I just have to find all the relevant bits of paper so I can do it. Oy.
