I guess flying strictly Qantas isn't possible, huh?
I could probably make it work.

Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, duct tape, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.

So United Airlines reply was ridiculous. It took them how many days to compose that? I could have written that and I don't work at UA.
I could probably make it work.
Hmph.
Is this article oddly written, or am I missing something: [link] . I feel like the actual meaning of the article is not there. It just talks around the meat.
Man, when we have to make an emergency change, it's the lead's responsibility to collect the approvals required to proceed. And this is true 24x7. Ir's a weirdly random process trying to cull approval from a director with no direct interest in the change, or someone who has never worked with you. And it's a definite flaw of remote, since calling people and texting them on their personal cells etc to get stuff in by a deadline is...awkward.
And, to boot, the data centre is all "what? now?" We were sitting at your desk, waiting for twenty minutes for you to get off a phone call yesterday. I opened a support ticket yesterday in which I said I'd make this request today. If you refuse to do this things on short notice, TELL ME BEFORE THE LAST MINUTE.
And this morning I get "I iz confuse:(" email from the developer who ignored my request until, hey, the last minute, and then puts IMMEDIATE RESPONSE REQUIRED on her email subject line. Should I put VAGUELY TIMELY RESPONSE APPRECIATED on mine? If she doesn't understand the question, and her deadline is 9am Thursday, why tell me at 7am Thursday? Why not, say, some time on MONDAY???
Any buffistas know anyone who works at Skadden, Arps? Just applied there and an inside person never hurts.
What would you be Examining?
Financial Institutions! A shifty lot.
So this weekend and next weekend and probably evenings will belong to studying and yard work, I think I can make that work. Sorry interior of the house, you will remain a pit a little longer.
I feel like that article is written for someone who has a knowledge base that I don't share maybe? I didn't finish it, though.
I have to say (HAVE TO) that the pink stuff I got from Banana Republic is very pleasing. The pink Oxford shirt (really a button down button down) is so soft I want to sleep in it. And the lining of the cuffs is gingham! So, bonus.
Being able to sort a site by colour or size really speeds choices up--but if you want a medium skirt at Bluefly, they only have a handful. Aren't they supposed to have a deep inventory? What is their business model these days? A place like Modcloth has more relevant choices for me.
I remember watching S&E with my dad. On our little b&w tv. Mustard yellow. Dial. Wow.
I didn't get any of my personal stuff done today, all full up with meetings, some double booked. Ahrg. And a dog&pony show tomorrow.
I've discovered what is more frustrating than a slow swim: a slow swim in which I felt like I was fast. It felt good, at least. But I hate that I can't get it back. It'll have been a year of slowly getting slower now. I think I might be overthinking my turns.
