And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

Wah, I am back at work. I am not pleased with this. (On the plus side, our team table is full of interns so I get to work in the kitchen today, which puts me much closer to the coffee.)

(My office has a really nice kitchen with a seating area, it's not like I'm sitting in the dishwasher.)

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

OMG, my coworker shaved his beard, and it's horrifying! Maybe I'll get used to it.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I went to BBAB the other day to get a CO2 refill for the Sodastream, and I handed the cashier my 20% off coupon. And he tut tutted and told me I should use a $5 off coupon instead (vs $3 off), and I explained this was all the couponage I had. I find it interesting that the staff doesn't expect me to pay full price for a $15 item, which is fair, because I pretty much never shop there without the right number of coupons in hand.

Banana Republic is becoming like that. No shopping unless at least 1 thing is 30% off, preferably most. If they're willing to have sales all the time, I'm willing to restructure the order in which I get things, so they know I'll at least check with them first. The arrangement works.

Because books.

I just almost fell down the stairs at work. I did a very strange sort of modern ballet and managed not to actually fall, but my back is sore where I pushed up against the wall.

Can I go home now?

"We're missing data." OK, can you give me an example, because I am not seeing this. "But we're missing data, we know it should be here but it isn't!" Without an example, I cannot confirm or explain anything to you. "But we're missing date!"

NO, I'VE DECIDED YOU ARE JUST LYING TO COVER YOUR INCOMPETENCE.

It's only taken them oh, 3.5 months to get around to looking at this.

"I keep to a strict diet of ill-advised enthusiasm and heartfelt regret." Leigh Bardugo

Over the last 11 years, the A's payroll has increased by 40%. Over the same period the Yankees payroll increased by 57%. (Yes, I take this all too seriously, I know).

On Sunday the NYT ran a relatively lengthy article about how A. Rod's contract is no good and how it is fucking up the Yankees.

I am freaking EXHAUSTED today. Grace woke all of the family up at 1:00 last night. Suffice it to say I did not make it to the gym.

I remember the crazy days. 500 posts an hour. Nubmer! Natgbsb

Unsurprising to, well, everyone, I am full of piss this morning. I hate everyone and the only emotion I seem capable of sharing is lightly veiled bitterness dripping in sarcasm.

FUCK YOU EVERYONE.

hwæt

The two highest paid outfielders on the Mets payroll are Jason Bay and Bobby Bonilla. Jason Bay plays for the Mariners, and Bonilla retired in 2001. You read that right.

The highest paid pitcher for the Mets is Johan Santana, who just had shoulder surgery (again), is out for the season, and probably won't play for the Mets anymore if and when he gets healthy.
