Amazing--I just talked to the hiring manager, who told me they didn't even hire the vet--they hired another civilian from elsewhere in the agency. And then he tried to claim that I wasn't as qualified, at which point I really had to get off the phone.
I will be giving notice as soon as I can find someone to take my calls.
And they've known for weeks. I don't think they even tried to get to me, it was just easier to hire internally.
