We won’t stop until everyone is gay.

Check out the man-made bridge crabs use for their migration.

Simultaneously awesome and wiggins-inducing!

"I keep to a strict diet of ill-advised enthusiasm and heartfelt regret." Leigh Bardugo

Dinner is grilled cheese with ham and lentil/sausage stew. To drink, I've had pear cider and bailey's with actual cream. I went to TJs, but there were no christmas jo jos yet. So sad. Instead, I bought yet more butternut squash and spinach gratin (holey moley yum!).

Now I'm sleepy.

Things we made today: an advent calendar, turkey place cards, a mostly completed wreath of awesomeness, a girl scout journal.

Tomorrow I will make mushroom/lentil shepherd's pie, apple cranberry crisp, and a whole bunch of pie crusts. And maybe mashed potatoes, since I have to make it for the shepherd's pie anyhow.

Who is coming over for thanksgiving?

I made breakfast burritos with pork chorizo and black beans, and I made a lot so I could eat the leftovers for breakfast the next couple of days.

I don't have a broken hand! My hand was a little baffling to the Urgent Care staff. They think dislocation, and I'm supposed to ice it, wear a brace, and take ibuprofen.

Glad to hear it's not broken, shrift!

Me, I spent 3 hours assembling Ikea furniture. And then checked out a house for sale in my sister's neighborhood. It's cool, and weird, and has the most amazingly kind-of-awful pink kitchen. Ewww.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

I had leftover boeuf bourguignon Chez my parents, so that was good.

I’m responsible for my own happiness? I can’t even be responsible for my own breakfast! (Bojack Horseman)

Drank several beers during the Saints game, came home and made homemade mac & cheese, now sleepy, and maybe slightly hung over?

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

I had incredible mac and cheese at a church potluck for lunch, along with other misc. Thanksgiving-y things, so I've pretty much eaten free all day. Not bad!

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

My dinner was steak, salad with blue cheese dressing, and asparagus. Classic.

I didn't do anything interesting today. Usual Sunday stuff.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I have a real aversion to overhead crabs. Is a thing.

My dinner was lazy as all get out. I stopped by Whole Foods yesterday for the first time in a million years, and decided to indulge myself in meats, in order to trick myself into a halfway dinnerlike dinner. I had thought I had corn on the cob at home, and that was going to be my side, but my freshness-meter is way uncalibrated.

Still, rice grew from the ground, right? It might not be green, but neither is corn. Baby steps.

I knew the cut of beef was going to be outside of my normal budget, because butchers who make conversation below signs of five different stages of happy organic dead animal grading...definitely milking me for all I'm willing to be suckered for.

Whole Foods is fascinating. I'll stop by Gelson's or Bristol Farms when I'm looking for something I can't find at Ralph's, but the people at Whole Foods look really different. Like I never see them at the other supermarkets. And it's not just because it was in Santa Monica--the one near work is the same. I guess people who shop at Gelson's normally are looking for the sort of place that valet parks, and have a certain luxury/quality expectation? But Whole Foods is a lifestyle of dead things.

Still, this piece of beef is delicious. Not regular buying it there delicious, but it's a nice treat.

Finished catching up on the first season of Once Upon A Time. Now I'm 4 or 5 episodes into Revenge, which is clearly what I was trying to get from something else. Not sure which something, but something.

My brain is on extra high diversity alert, and this is totally not the show for that. Thought they're not bad, considering the expectations people have of the Hamptons. Okay, I say that and they pan past an Asian and a black servant in uniform. But that's not what I meant.

We're up to two network shows with a non-white lead, right? Nikita and Scandal? Both of them female to boot. They are pretty strongly ensemble shows, but the "minority" woman in choice is the clear power centre of the show. It feels like Kristen and that Shonda chick are doing all the work for Hollywood.

Who is coming over for thanksgiving?

Aieeee!

I don't have a broken hand! Yes. No ER, no break.

I went shopping and picked up a hummingbird ornament from Poland and the Smitten Kitchen cookbook for my mom's birthday. Then Urgent Care for hours. After that, I stopped into Target for wine and chorizo and to look at their selection of braces.
