1/4 C of chili powder sounds like a lot, but it's only 4 tablespoons, so that's only double the 1T/lb recipe, which is still a significant increase but maybe not too much. Depends on the chili powder, too, some brands/sources are hotter than others. I am still using the stuff my sister brought home from South Africa 20 years ago, and even with all that passage of time it's still hotter than anything I buy at the supermarket (she brought home like a pound or something, my mom keeps the bulk of it and I refill my chili powder jar from her. Sometimes there isn't time for that and I have to make do with whatever is on the shelf).

All that said, I have no idea what proportions I use. I'm not sure I'm consistent, for one thing, and I haven't made chili in a while. And I don't think I've ever made it in the crockpot, if that makes a difference.

Okay, nurse said she'd be here at 10, and something at work blew up at 10:10, so I'm telling them I can't work it, but she's not here yet. Of course the stress of the blowup is making my end-of-week headache twice as bad, so I have to pass off handling it to a co-worker for two reasons, not just the one. That's the truth. I use a crapload of chili powder, but it's old and I think from the dollar store, so. But then I also use extra cumin and chipotles.

Oh man, I think this sunday is a lost day. I woke up at first, with no alarm, at 6. Puttered and decided this was ridic, set the radio to go on at 8, figuring I'd listen to the news, which I did...and then conked out just as PHC came on. Woke up at 1.

I guess I'll go do catsitting and swim and cal the day good. I got enough sleep, I guess?

I took care of the birds. It looks like we got about four inches so far. The SO's feeding station shelter works really really well. Normally at this point I'd need to keep dumping out the snowlogged seed and refill, but the shelter has kept it all dry.

My boss emailed me yesterday from an airport asking if there was a confirmation email for his embassy appt IN ANOTHER COUNTRY for which he has already left home! so I tell him that I do not recall receiving anything and that I would have forwarded it to him already. I frantically search through my emails and find nothing, just my notes I sent him from making the appt. He needs to arrive X minutes early and have X documents for his kids. SO I send him those.

?!?!?!?!? he writes back, YOU SHOULD HAVE REMINDED ME I NEEDED THOSE DOCUMENTS! forget I was home sick on Friday and I had already sent him that info WHEN I MADE THE APPT!!!

I am going to be in trouble for this. grrrrr.

It's 11am here and I just woke up. And if someone could magically deliver real fast in bed, I would go back to sleep until that arrived. Sadly that won't happen, so I'm trying to decide what to do...the things that sound yummy would take too long, but the easy things aren't in any way good for me. Dilemma.

I'm thinking a pedicure, later. I have a work training this evening, because it was the only well-timed option. It's at 9am Monday Singapore time, which is at least not the middle of the night here. I'll probably listen/watch from my couch.
