Suzi, that's awesome! In our neck of the woods, we have lots of S&R groups because of the foothills and all that entails. I know the number of hours they have to go through to train is staggering, so his completing all of that is quite an achievement.
Okay, I have now finished hemming my pants so now I have stuff to wear tomorrow, Friday and Saturday. YAY stuff.
I'm cold. This morning, right above our house, the mountains were dusted in snow. The thermometer read 36 degrees. Brrrrr... our little house is ill-equipped for such weather.
It looks like the storm that got us is heading your way, Liese. Stay warm!
It was 42 in West LA when I woke up. Appalling. Bait and switch, man.
Suzi, that's amazing!
Does your place even have heat, ita?
I should go to bed, but it seems so far to walk and so cold across the wood floors.
I'm so sorry Sophia, and I hope that she turns up OK.
Congrats Dana to you and your DH!
I am so very tired, and now that I've read Kat's post, it turns out I don't even have a good reason. I'm just tired. Isaac had a cute project for school. He had to make a guitar as part of an African American history month project and DH helped him make one out of cardboard that really works. He was bouncing around with it before bed.
Burrell, I also credited (not really graded, but more like checked and processed) 2 assignments for 2 classes, 1 assignment for 3 classes, 1 assignment for 5 classes and 1 assignment for 4 classes.
Tomorrow, I will grade 3 assignments for 4 classes and 2 assignments for 1 class and then 2 paper sets for AP.
Saturday, I will write my f-in portfolio or else.
Still? I thought we were through most of it! The SO is not going to be happy. But I don't care; I have lots of inside work to do.
Does your place even have heat, ita?
It does, but I looked at my last electricity bill (twice the one before it) and decided that's the simplest thing to cut, right?
Except I also keep windows open so that my pillow doesn't smell of pot roast or whatever the night's dinner was, and I did have to stop that. I'm going to bundle to sleep tonight too.
I can't believe I layered a shirt and sweater to go to work, and it made the trip for lunch...not pleasant, but also not miserable.
I don't want to have to make those decisions! Times like this I wish I'd moved to Miami, but then again, I'm actually pretty good with not living that close to everything, and I never tapped into the same "big city" feel that made here so attractive.
As kids in Ja, we grew up with G&R. G is a girl, my sister's age almost, and R is a boy, just younger than me. There is a continual "are you out yet?" hanging over R's head. He's living his life the way he wants to, shucks the restrictions that he feel are holding his soul back (it's him who put a shoutout to me in his band, Transdub Massiv's liner notes first CD and he works with Meshell Ndegeocello and he studied music fo healing, and he doesn't want me to officiate his wedding, since he'd be getting an Igbo priest.
His sister just came out at her 40th. My sister knew, but apparently thinks we keep secrets from each other now. Which means I need new secrets, clearly. Because I was showing my hand.
Anyway, say you come out as bi (she's married to a man) and you keep hearing "You? Not R?" must be really annoying after a while. Just, R--voted most likely to be queer but cis. G was most likely to rise up in local politics, not get people wondering if she's having threesomes (not default bi reaction--just based on how she was working the room on her way out of the closet.
But, damn. I need a secret. About me, about someone...I just don't want Sav to have all the secrets in this relationship.
Oh my God, Belinda has relatives! [link]
That is fantastic, CJ!!
A lot of places in KC have called tomorrow a snow day, though nary a flake has hit the metro. But it's supposed to pound us between 4am and about 6pm. I am glad I can work from home.
