Mal: Yeah, well, just be careful. We cheated Badger out of good money to buy that frippery, and you're supposed to make me look respectable. Kaylee: Yes, sir, Captain Tightpants.

tonight I am going to see Pink with Juliana,

That sounds amazing.

I am...just now settling in to try to work. Not to DO work mind you, but to TRY. Ugh. Mondays suck enough, Mondays that are holidays for many other people including my roommate? AWFUL.

Also, anyone have experience with the blue light daylight things that are supposed to help? I was trying to be good about turning it on right when I wake up, and like, reading in bed for a bit, but didn't manage that this weekend or today---if I turn it on now, will that completely screw my sleep schedule, or will it still be good for me, even if it's not first thing?

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

Beau really liked most of Season 1 of Downton but has become increasingly disaffected. I thought 2 was worse than 3 but the show is over praised IMO. If not for Maggie Smith and my faint hope Judi Dench will show up I would have kicked this show to the curb.

this mess was yours / now your mess is mine

We tend to get every dang bank holiday off, but for some reason do not get today off. Which is no big deal, except when I go down the hall to the Ladies', I see all the other offices that are closed and all dark, and then I am sad.

And my co-workers keep talking about Downton Abbey.

Because books.

I backed out of Twitter because I saw Downton grumbling, and I'm still on S1. Which is my fault, but given the horrified reactions, I want to stay unspoiled as long as I can. I need to do a marathon day.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

That's going to epic, Lee! Have fun!

I am in a slounging mood, I think I overdid it yesterday (working in the evening means not knowing how lazy to be during the day to compensate, alas) but there's stuff I really want to get done. Maybe if I slounge until lunch and then get productive...OTOH, holiday...

Our wings are not tired.

I haven't watched Downton at all. It seemed a good option for a summer marathon event, but now I am thinking maybe not.

hwæt

I don’t watch Downton, but I read about this last episode on the AVClub, and I didn’t think it was possible for anything to top the death of Gary on thirtysomething in terms of stupid, manipulative TV show deaths .

I remember the crazy days. 500 posts an hour. Nubmer! Natgbsb

Gah Tom, that old reference was something I watched in re-runs the summer I nannied in NY. I was hormonal and surrounded by pregnant women for most of my days. Those episodes made me a mess.

I really liked season 1 of Downton, and then season 2 was pretty meh but the Christmas special was great, and this season has had its ups and downs but I haven't watched the finale yet.

Cats to become a rabbit should gather immediately now here

Oh Gary!

That was awful.
