Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

I only know so many people who always get tail when they travel...

See, Jamaica doesn't get advisories like that.

It would for anyone traveling from my mom's job -- this is definitely in the generic health section, which includes rabies, dengue fever,etc..

Diseases Spread By Sex/blood/needles
HIV, Hepatitis B and C, & STIs

Prevention: Always use new condoms (preferably brought from your home country, if traveling to a less-developed nation), do not share needles, and in hospitals, ensure that needles and syringes are new.

Spain was well behaved. Also, work trip.

Hahaha! I laughed at the SARA. ;) oh, buffistas, where we've now known each other approximately forever.

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

Lee, how far are you from Menlo Park? Because there's a Pharmaca there; I don't know about other locations, but the San Francisco one has glorious half price Valentine's candies. Fancy schmancy ones like Lake Champlain and the glorious Moonstruck. Still pricey even at half off, but so insanely good that they actually last longer; you eat one and you don't want to eat another right away, you just want to sit and bask in the afterglow a while.

Ooh, I shall have to look into that. I decided I was too hungry to risk candy shopping tonight, but maybe tomorrow. I do have wine!

The bright spot of my day: I got accosted by a very talkative little girl in a sparkly pink tutu on my way out of work.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Jesse, for the record, I know why you called Miss meg out right away. Hello, nurse.

I think when you're leaving a country that's got a decent dengue fever risk, it's the sort of thing that gets easily overlooked. I read Raq's description of the services the US govt provides for its employees abroad, and I just have to laugh. It was very not like that for us--we had a weird blend of random privilege and general poverty coexisting.

Oh, so true.

Spain was well behaved. Also, work trip.

Ha, I also love that sara thinks she can be all eyerolly, and yet can only come up with one trip to counter the prevailing notions.

THANK GOODNESS.

Oh, and now I realize you meant you don't get advisorys like that IN Jamaica.

Well, yeah. I was surprised by Australia, ftr. I was so planning on behaving! Apparently, I can't.

If behaving you mean behaving per normal, then yes you did.
