Greece's financial crisis threatens to take down all of Western civilization - a civilization they themselves founded. A rather tragic irony - which is something they also invented. - Jon Stewart

Those side-saddle pictures are badass.

I saw robe-clad men riding side-saddle when I was in Morocco. They weren't jumping over anything and they were on donkeys, but it was still pretty cool to see.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

I can make you a chocolate pots de creme, Lee! Or I could if I wasn't so tired and if I had some way to get it to you. But that is a thing I know how to make.

I was just thinking today how I kind of want to fly somewhere so I can try out Jetblue's new electronic boarding pass. Vegas came to mind...

It seems weird for anyone in Jesus and Mary Chain to have kids. I'm not sure why.

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

I can make you a chocolate pots de creme, Lee! Or I could if I wasn't so tired and if I had some way to get it to you. But that is a thing I know how to make.

We need to make this happen

I was just thinking today how I kind of want to fly somewhere so I can try out Jetblue's new electronic boarding pass. Vegas came to mind...

This too

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

What's great about their version of the electronic boarding pass? I don't remember if I've flown them yet...

I can't wait until March--Mexico with Brenda! Oh, beach and sun, how I yearn for you....

I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

This is interesting. [link] Where would you live?

I'm currently in Shennendoah, but I'd like to be in Menominee.

And, now that it's in my brain:

Menominee

Do dooo da do da

Menominee

Do do da do

Menominee

Do doooo da do da, da do da, da do da, da do da do da do do do da do!

My first boyfriend introduced me to that band. Fun times!

hip deep in pie

Steph, congratulations!

Greetings from the train to Galway. Ireland certainly has a lot of sheep, and some ponies with very thick necks. (These have been most of my sights on the train.) I love the wifi on the train, even it is spotty.

I had an evening and the morning in Dublin. I was just starting to feel like I was making sense of it when it was time to go. I have two days on the way back...but I am going to have to have more a plan than I would like to get shit done.

I went to see a play last night. It was pretty well done, except that it was 20 year olds playing character in their 50s and they didn't really go for the physicality of it. It was just over an hour long, thank god, because I was surviving on no sleep, but determine not to just crash.

I must not make any jokes about Gaelic being a fake language in Galway....

Art Crawl!!!

Woke up this morning to a local NPR story about the 5 year memorial of the 2/14 shootings. . .followed up by the story about Oscar Pastorius murdering his girlfriend.

Neither of these things made me eager to get out of bed.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

That's why I don't wake up to the news anymore, sumi. Too often makes me want to hide under the covers.

Hooray Galway!

What's great about their version of the electronic boarding pass? I don't remember if I've flown them yet...

I don't know, yet, that's why I want to fly and find out. It's all in your phone now, I think, no printing out in the terminal needed, but I can't find where I was reading that.
