Oh, thank goodness the nurse did what you needed, ita. May that continue.
Suzi, belated Happy Birthday, and I'm sorry for all the drama.
Sue, I hope you can reschedule and still make your trip.
I had just discovered orzo right before I went wheatless, and it quickly became my favorite pasta. I love the texture. A local bistro did a dilled chicken and orzo that was divine. Or tossed with a little butter, parm, cracked pepper and sea salt, orzo's pretty nummy on its own.
I'm sorry you've lost people, Liese.
I know I've had orzo, but I've never tried making it. *adds to list* I recently tried making a lentil-rice pilaf from scratch, and it turned out slimy. The directions said to cook the lentils and rice separately, and I didn't, so the failure's probably on me. Oh well. Good thing rice and lentils are cheap. Next time I'll follow the recipe properly.
I'm so happy about the woo nurse!
Nurse news is good news, and long overdue.
SHE FOLLOWS THE DOCTOR'S DIRECTIVES
YAY!
I love orzo, and more importantly, my kids love orzo. So we eat a lot of it. It makes a good starchy base for just about anything you can name.
So happy that the nurse visit went OK.
In other news, 6/1 odds of a Pope Scola.
Woo nurse, with added Woo! Just knowing what to expect the next 3 weeks and not having to play ER lotto has to be a big relief.

Yay for good nursing!
I suspect the talkativeness is a necessary feature, because she's going to have to stay keenly aware of your mental and physical state while administering what are pretty major drugs. It's even better attentiveness than you get in an ER, with different people popping in and out without much idea of how you're tracking overall.
She'll probably back off a bit once she gets a good baseline on how you react....
I like to make orzo that tastes like risotto. Boil it in just in chicken broth instead of water in a 3 to 1 ratio. Pour off any extra liquid (leaving a little bit behind), add some butter and grated cheese. So yummy!
Does anyone know if I can find the Baftas telecast online anywhere? I found the highlights, but was hoping to get the whole thing.
