I'm fairly certain I said no interruptions.

Thrive to spite them

It's a snow day! And my landlady's kids are celebrating by running from one end of the apartment from the other. It's like living under a herd of wild ponies.

At least they aren't skipping this time.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

Hm. NYC schools are still on, no early dismissal announced. Literally every school district north of us announced either a closing or an early dismissal late yesterday, but Bloomberg has apparently decided he's had enough of being prepared and is going back to his 2010-style of just winging it and hoping everything works out.

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

I seriously cannot believe you guys are not closed.

We're trying to figure out here if we should cancel the concert or not...and it's still three days away. But the band will be coming in from higher elevation and the audience will be coming from a different higher elevation. It's possible we'll have nothing and they'll have 7 inches.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

Drive to work wasn't too bad. I did hit a patch of ice on a slow, tight corner, which caused me to slide until I hit a patch of frozen slush. I was probably going 5 mph so no big deal.

Everyone else was cutting inside the corner. I followed the lines and hit the ice.

I had a dream where elevators on a college campus worked like normal elevators, but for 30 cents (there was a coin pay slot IN the elevator like a candy machine) they would TRANSPORT YOU TO OTHER BUILDINGS!

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

I would totally pay 30 cents for that.

Just like Wonka!

It's the Friday of my first full week of full-time work in years. I'm proud of me. And also glad it's Friday.

Last night I dreamed I went to visit Jesse in her illegally converted loft in Bushwick. You had to walk through to the back this shady-looking bodega to get in, and this scary shopkeeper would glare at you and you had to convince him that you knew Jesse.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

With 30 cents you could have bypassed that guy.

The 30 cents was a problem in my dream because I had a lot of quarters, but no nickles and only one dime. There was no consideration for making change.
