I'll just jump in my time machine, go back to the twelfth century, and ask the vampires to postpone their ancient prophesy for a few days while you take in dinner and a show.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Hec, you should be following me on Twitter. I'm listening to the classic rock station and tweeting about it. You'd probably be horrified.

What horrifying things are you saying about the classic rock?

Iron Man

Ah. It is invisible to me. I do think the conception of that was crappy, as was the Silver Surfer, but the magic of cosplay is that it's not about me. I figure once you start conceiving an Iron Man that's puffy you're off in your own head canon.

I haven't seen a cosplay concept that was bad. I've seen some terrible execution, and I've seen some really baffling things, like the person who was dressed as a giant piece of toast, but nothing springs to mind as a bad concept.

Sometimes I think I might just move up to Vermont, open a bookstore or a vegan restaurant. Adam Schlesinger, z''l

I went to the farmers market, then the bookstore, then the grocery store to get stuff to make complete meals out of the things I got at the farmers market. Now I've got to figure out whether I'm still allowed to park in front of my house -- my neighbors said that they always have parking restrictions on this block for the vintage car thing tomorrow, because the cars to be judged park here, but so far, there aren't any "No Parking" signs. So far, most of the street spots are still taken by regular cars, so I guess I'll stay unless that changes.

I will say, I don't know who the Silver Surfer is, or what he's supposed to look like, but as soon as I saw that costume, I understood that's who he was supposed to be!

Also, my opinions on cosplay may be suspect, because the Infamous BlueJay has informed me that we're doing to do a gender-flipped version of the Fabulous Killjoys incarnation of MCR. She's promised she'll make a Jilli-appropriate (i.e. skirts and petticoats) version of Gerard's outfit. I have no idea how that will work, but okay.
