What's the anti-Flexeril deal? My doctor prescribed some (plus extra-strength ibuprofen) for a recent back flare-up, and no problems. Except that anywhere near bedtime, Flexeril + Extra-Strength Ibuprofen = 10 hours sleep for Fred.

My doctor doesn't really like prescribing things, especially painkillers. He was the one who told me to do all the advil rather than a prescription. Same thing with allergy meds- as soon as claritan was OTC, I lost my prescription for Allegra.
I'm here! Okay, I'm at home still because I'm going straight to an off-site meeting 20 minutes from my house that doesn't start until 10.
I had a super vivid dream about my old dog this morning. I was just petting him and he was really happy, young, and exuberant. Sometimes dreams can be nice like that.
That is a nice dream, lisah!
Sophia, I would talk to him. If the hip pain is bad, then tell him so -- tell him it's interfering with sleep or work or whatever. At least give it a shot. Either that or see a new doctor, I guess. But don't suffer if you don't have to.
I am weird like my grandma, I think. I am super hypochondriac, but I hate to go to the doctor when anything is really wrong. It is like I want him to think I am doing a good job by not being sick or something. It used to drive my mom crazy, because my grandma would complain and complain, and then go to the doctor, and tell him she was fine!

Seconded. My sister went through a lot to get her medical issues sorted out recently, and the lesson learned was that of your current doctor isn't willing or able to help you, find a different one. Especially in a case like this when you can point at something specific that you know from experience will help you.
And I totally agree: ask for pain meds and if he won't help - find another doctor.
Did we talk about the Batman and Robin My Little Ponies?
(Not that I might be trying to get you to make the experiment for the rest of us or anything. ..)
You are all more than welcome to join me, my father, and my grandmother for Sunday Family Dinner!
Flexeril is a muscle relaxant more than a painkiller. I think most doctors, being human, understand that people will take other's medicines. I've confessed to it without getting a lecture.
Speaking of, I feel just a little zombie-like this morning, but I also feel like I slept AWESOMELY. Totes worth it. Just wish I had a second mug of coffee to slurp down.
