woot! genius in the house!
meara, do you think that "racist" when people of color use it in OKCupid means something different than when White people use it?
For example, perhaps they answer yes because they laugh at Dave Chappelle's jokes - which are "racial" but not "racist" (to my mind).
Yeah, that was one of the things I was wondering--"racial" vs "racist" may be a good way to contrast. I totally get enjoying "racial" humor (or whatever the gay equivalent would be, or blonde, or whatever group the comedian happens to be a member of). So maybe that's how some people are thinking of the question. And honestly I rarely even have to think about racist humor among my friends or whatever--but I'm still shocked and appalled from a few years ago when my then-gf's BFF told me a blatantly racist joke about black people (...I think she figured since she didn't use the N word it was fine) and when I called her out my gf defended it. Ugh.
Way to go, Hil! On the off chance you need any Romanian translated, hit me up. Unless it's in Cyrillic characters.
Hey, I am curious -- my friend L, who lives in Seattle, gave a D in Seattle my business card and he said he knew me!
Now, there are a couple of "me's" out there, including a former beauty queen and a chemist, so I'm trying to figure out if it was a Buffista or Buffista-adjacent D! Because, OMG, wow! Funny!
Profile addy good if you don't want to say on-board.

Could that be Susan W.'s husband?

Thanks! They're probably a while from having any Romanian documents, though.
Hil, dingdingding! You are correct! Small world, eh?
msbelle, i am so sorry about the continued frustration with Mac.
Ah, I was trung to figure that out, but Susan W's husband makes sense! I forget she's in Seattle since I don't ever see her in person.
Go Hil! (I admit, I felt like a Google genius when I got ita's quote as the top hit in my first attempt at a search.)
I got a call to come in for a second interview with the library director next Monday, for the job I interviewed for yesterday. So, that's good. Does it change anything about my thank-you notes, which were going to go out tomorrow? (Last time I had an interview they offered me the job the next day, so I never sent a note.)
