Kalshane,
exit polls seem to indicate that 80% of the voters had made up their mind WRT how they would vote about 6-8 weeks ago. The "undecideds" were only about 12% of the population.
Most people voting don't believe in recall votes. So I guess they'd prefer to see the WI governor indicted instead. That will probably happen...

Hilarious how Walker stated the recall process was a waste of time--when it was a recall that put him in office in Milwaukee to start with. @@
Man, these grapes taste sour.

I wouldn't doubt a lot of people decided awhile ago.
The organization of the GOTV drive could have been better, though. I'm not sure if they were over-bothering everybody, or if they didn't divy up the contact lists correctly and some of us got contacted far, far more than we should have and others didn't get contacted at all.

Yeah, there's definitely enough foul smelling stuff surrounding Walker above and beyond his policies. We'll have to wait and see how that pans out.

I got really miffed with a co-worker during the Senate recalls awhile back, who thought it was hilarious that the Republicans were putting up fake Democratic candidates to force the recalled Democratic Senators to have primaries, but was complaining about how much money was wasted by those Democratic Senators when they fled to IL.
Apparently money spent on fake primary elections doesn't count or something.
Along the sames lines, when Pete has to spell out our last name to someone, he says, "That's "v" as in "victor". So the first time he heard me spell it out for someone and say, "That's "v" as in "vampire", his crankyface was EPIC.
Know what you need? Calling cards. You know. The old-fashioned ones that just had your name and maybe a pretty design. I'm gonna get me some of those, with my public email address. Then when someone can't spell my name, or I see a cute guy, I can just hand them my card. Solves the problem, and makes me memorable. You, of course, are already memorable.
Liese, thanks for sharing the Venus transit photos!
Sorry, Wisconsin. Hope he gets indicted or something.
Okay, I'm off to pack! I've come to terms with my tendency to wait til the last minute to pack for a trip. I'm just not going to bed. I'll sleep on the plane. Seattle-istas, I wave at you, but I won't have time to hunt you down and party with you, alas.
I am sorry everyone is cranky! I stole all your good moods!
I started out today with a breakfast with a good friend, who I thought was moving, but isn't (yet)! We vented and then afterwards she sent me a nice note about how much she appreciated the conversation and my work.
Then the SO & I went fishing with another friend, where I caught my first Apache trout! It was too windy to be too productive, but it really was pretty fun.
And we rushed home for the transit of Venus, which you guys saw we really enjoyed.
And the SO made homemade ice cream. And then we had sex.
I maybe didn't need to mention that last bit, but seriously, it's been a good day all day.
I think you won Tuesday, Liese.
Eta: It's a good thing you wrote a letter, Matt. That is absurdly bad customer service!
Yeah. The practical inconvenience to me is minor, I can just look for steaks when I go to the other supermarket for its fresher avocados in a day or two. But I don't understand what Dude is there for if he's not going to help customers, and just after the opening of two shiny new competing markets is a spectacularly bad time to be unwelcoming to them.
I think you won Tuesday, Liese.
Yeah. I did it at the cost of lots of stuff that needed to be done, but having a good mental health day before summer craziness also needed to happen. So I'm okay with my priorities, and I'm also okay with how I'm working late right now to make up for it.
I'm in a much better mood. My house was clean when I got home, and I talked to my niece on the phone, and I did some writing, go me. And now I'm off to bed.
Go you! Have a good, restful night.
