I'm watching an I Love Lucy rerun. Lucy thinks that Ricky misses Cuba, so she decorates the apartment in Cuban stuff and cooks Cuban food. Only thing is, nearly everything she's using isn't Cuban, it's Mexican. I wonder if the viewers in the fifties were supposed to notice that, or if they would just assume that all Spanish stuff is more or less the same. The "Cuban" decoration includes several of those sleeping Mexican in sombrero statues, and the foods she says she cooked are tacos and enchiladas.

I actually have no clue where she lives--my roommate's sister is a doctor who works on the Navajo reservation....but since that's pretty darn large, I have no idea where they would be in relation! :)
