Anya: We should drop a piano on her. It always works for that creepy cartoon rabbit when he's running from that nice man with the speech impediment. Giles: Yes, or perhaps we could paint a convincing fake tunnel on the side of a mountain.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

This is awesome. Darby"s rescue group is working with a puppy who was quite gruesomely abused and needing serious medical care. (He"s named after Jennifer Hudson, since they both earned a lot of scars coming up in Englewood.) stepping up to help raise funds is Arbor the Painting Dog, another rescue with unique talents. [link] I kind of want that painting, and the vid is adorbs..

I'm repeating myself cause I don't quite believe it. I will be testing for my "green with brown stripe" belt on the 16th.

My shoulder surgery was March 8th and I'm still in the recovery zone as far as non-normal activities. My freaking out is still high.

The status is NOT quo.

Suzi, that's amazing! Congrats!

Life moves pretty fast. You don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.

Go you, Suzi!

So far today we took our pup to his first obedience class, then drove around to a lot of dealers where I test drove cars. I am pretty set on the Mazda 2. I have the DH to be all expert-y and look at reliability and mileage and stuff so I can concentrate on the IMPORTANT stuff like color and cuteness. I want a blue one so I can call it the TARDIS.

How do you pronounce “Sriracha”?

Rooster Sauce.

I'm getting an Old Navy gift card for my cousin who just graduated from high school. He wore a uniform for years, so he'll need clothes for college. How much should I get?

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

I'm repeating myself cause I don't quite believe it. I will be testing for my "green with brown stripe" belt on the 16th.

That's frabjous, Suzi! Congrats!

Look at those eyes! What a fine dog. I hope Hudson's wounds all heal and he finds a wonderful forever family. There's a special place in Hell for people who abuse animals.

My friend who has a Mazda 2 adores it, Scrappy. Good choice.

Today: bought 3 pairs of shoes for less than $40, yay discount shoe stores. And I needed them! Really. Also, serendipitously found the PERFECT little console table for the space beside my comfy chair under the window. It's just the right size, has 6 drawers, and is a lovely honey-brown that fits right in with my "all wood, only wood" decor. It's also a slight bit "distressed" (a ding in the top) which discounted its price, and will make me unconcerned about any minor damage it might accrue from frolicking cats. I call this day a win.

Rooster Sauce.

True that.

How much should I get?

However much you're comfortable giving? Probably not more than $100, because you wouldn't want your whole wardrobe to be Old Navy. Unless you can use the giftcard at their other stores (Gap/Banana) also. Less than $20 would be ridiculous. But then, I don't think I've ever bought gifts for cousins, so... (Though none of them are younger enough than me that it would've made much sense, either)

Went to grocery store! Put laundry in! Now to decide if it makes sense to head over to get a pedicure. Possibly they're booked up.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Maxim is commemorating the tenth anniversary of The Wire's debut with some snippets from most of the people on the show.

Andre Royo: They called me and told me I got the part of Bubbles, and my wife got excited. “Oh, shit! You got the part!” Packing her bag for L.A., and I’m like, “Nah, nah, we filming in Baltimore.” And she unpacked real quickly: “I’ll see you when you come home.”

Can't decide if I should do $50 or $100.
