So the skills it takes to recruit the right wife are similar to the skills it takes to recruit the right players?

I cry foul.

I think I knew you were not a cat person Tom, but cats are less work than dogs and allow you to take day/weekend trips.

Not if my mom and cousin are any indication. Their schedules pretty much revolve around their cats. (Though at least Mom's is also friendly and affectionate once he gets over the 15-minute urge to hide, in contrast to cousin's Ghost Cat and Attack Cat.)

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

he thinks the best way to assess their abilities to recruit promising high school students is who their wives are.

To me, this indicates a profound misunderstanding of either marriage or coaching, or both. Either way, ew.

"I keep to a strict diet of ill-advised enthusiasm and heartfelt regret." Leigh Bardugo

Indeed on the woo hoo!

ita, I tried your site, but since I've lost 18 lbs, I think I need to just go and get remeasured. I'm trying a new bra today that's 2 cup sizes smaller and I have a little spill over but not much. My other bras are gaping.

We are Buffistas. This isn't our first apocalypse. -- Pix

In office gossip news, My Nemesis has fixated on a newish contractor to do all her technical work for her. I suppose I shouldn't complain, except My Nemesis appears to be giving her some projects that should come to me, since they are associated with the program I run. But of course the only way I know about it is because I hear My Nemesis talking to the contractor.

And when I went to my boss and said, "Shouldn't [My Nemesis] be giving me the work that is associated with my program?" He said, "Not really."

::shrugs:: I wouldn't complain, except it makes me look like an idiot if I don't know what's going on at those sites. Which, of course, is her intention. Or so I believe.

It's also unfair to the new contractor, who is very busy already.

Hmm... if there was another way that did not include dry ice, I'd happily share chiles with you. I think I may slow cook a chile stew since I have pork in the freezer.

FYI - I'm planning to hit the F2F, and returning home to San Diego after - also staying with a friend, not at a hotel, so will have refrigerator/freezer access. If you ladies would like to use EpicTangent messenger service, let me know.

Given the Penn State scandal(s), you'd think he would be more judicious in how he explains his recruiting mechanisms and the implications it may present.

I tried the bra site and it told me I was wearing the right size. The bras it showed me included some that are, I'm quite certain, NOT the right size (my current band size and a larger cup size? Methinks not). But a few of them were super cute...but I dont' need $50 bras.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Irritating--heads up that the bra site requires you to sign up with them before giving you the results. I hate websites that operate like that--honestly, you can tell me up front, because if I don't want to give out my email address I'd also really rather not waste the time on the quiz.

Ha! I mean, I do. Because that would save me a decent chunk of change.
