This is so nice. Having everyone together for my birthday. Of course, you could smash in all my toes with a hammer and it will still be the bestest Buffy Birthday Bash in a big long while.

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

Totally understand how family stuff can eat up all your time right now, Cass. But if you get a chance to come up for a visit, it might be a nice break for you.

Sending hugs!

Good luck to S!

I figure there are two ways to do well in a presidential debate. One is to be a quick thinker and give good answers to the questions, but the other is to stick to your talking points even if they are only vaguely related to the question being asked.

Calli: My people have a saying. A man who trusts can never be betrayed, only mistaken.Avon: Life expectancy among your people must be extremely short.

Since most people don't watch debates, the third way is for the press to report that you won and that your opponent sighed and loomed and that sighing and looming are just dreadful, dreadful things to do.

Romney gets flustered and contradicts himself if you ask him what the weather's like.

Well sure, how's he supposed to know whether the person asking him wants to hear it's sunny or raining beforehand?

brillig

schadenfreude, sweet schadenfreude

a co-worker just decided to use an internal chat room for upper level techs to bitch about the skills and work habits of a lower level tech--who he named specifically! Then he said he didn't want to tell a supervisor, he was just hoping a supervisor would happen to see his rant and take action, without said co-worker having to do anything like, oh, take ownership of his rant (which was somewhat justified). A couple of people told him to just report the things, I told him that badmouthing a co-worker in a company chat room that gets saved on the server was a bad idea, and a supervisor just came in to quote to said co-worker the company policy against badmouthing co-workers and to give him a smackdown.

Dude! Are you new to computer communications? How did you not think this would backfire on you!
