From way back, before the anipals and sexual deviancy conversation:
Hold on. So we as a collective have a service to decorate AND intimidate neighbors? Damn. I'm missing out.
YES! It's one of the perks of having me as a houseguest. Are your neighbors being inconsiderate twerps? Send the wacky Goth lady to talk to them! It confuses them into good behavior for a while.
I never understood why people chose dare. You could always just lie if you chose truth, whereas dare you needed to perform.
Hey, Sophia is me! But my crowd tended to play strip Trivial Pursuit. Pro tip: if one of the people playing has drunk less than everyone else, read odd books, AND wore lots of gothy layers, the chances of getting them down to their underwear are pretty low.
I am in AWE of this morning's conversation. Fur babies, sex with doorknobs, sex with siblings....
I remember Sambo's! And I distinctly remember looking at the decor and boggling and pointing out to my parents how horribly racist it was, and my mother concurring. And my grandmother being all "but... pancakes!"
It's the DH's 50th birthday on Tuesday. We are hosting his family at our house over the weekend and then having a small just-friends party on Monday. SO MUCH TO DO TO GET READY.
I remember Sambo's! And I distinctly remember looking at the decor and boggling and pointing out to my parents how horribly racist it was, and my mother concurring. And my grandmother being all "but... pancakes!"
I remember Sambo's too.
Sadly, pancakes do not compensate for racism.
Didn't Sambo's become Denny's? So not much improvement on the racism except for the name.
The original Sambo's is still in existence in Santa Barbara, w right on the PCH. [link] Apparently the name has nothing to do with the racist story--but they did choose to use it for branding, so it's still on them. We meet family from Northern Cal for brunch there sometimes, as it's halfway between them and us and the food is GREAT.
If it doesn't address blowing or rolling, still not the device I need. ::continues with port::
I am nostalgic for mine. They can only use my left arm because of the lymphedema in the right. This week I've had two long infusions and three blood draws, plus medical science has found another form of tape that I'm allergic too.
Wow--I missed a great evening of nattering.
Ginger, medical science needs to be a bit less innovative for you.
Wow, that page is cutely defensive over their name. Go team Sambo!
Having the port shaves about 45 minutes off my ER visit, so I am quite a fan. Even if it does randomly choose to hurt.
