Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

Any ideas on how to offset the habanero?

Over rice. Or adding another sauce as well. Like, mmm, sour cream.

We won’t stop until everyone is gay.

Anything dairy is usually good for cooling off something spicy.

I do not have more in savings than checking, but if you count the stuff that hasn't cleared yet, they are almost even! And I've paid off about $1500 of credit card debt! Woo. Couldn't have done it without my generous friends and family, who've kept me from totally going insane from not being able to go out at all ever.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

I just had a sort of difficult conversation with a friend about money, because seriously, she needs a therapist more than a budget to deal with the issues she actually has. I am exhausted.

But I have also done another hour of freelance work tonight! Also exhausting, but additional money for me.

In short, yay money, bed soon.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Man, "For the Defense" is totally one of the best late L&O episodes. Cutter! Rubirosa! Cutter! McCoy...

I do think I need a new pair of cufflinks...

"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

FLEET WEEK.

Is that why Renner is dressed like that?

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Sure, why not?

I realized I'm old when I started feeling more maternal toward most servicemembers I see walking around.

I have found age to have a countereffect on my maternal instinct.

They're so little now! People let them go to war????

Because books.

They're so little now! People let them go to war????

And most of them are so sweet. When I was in the city last year for BEA, a couple of them stopped me as I walking back to Penn Station to ask if I could take their picture.

So I told them about my brother, and they were so interested (or did a lovely job of pretending), and then one of them gave me a cigarette. And yes, very, very young.

They can call me. I'll hide them.

OMG, the This Means War spots on TV still completely command my attention. My IQ just dropped 25 points, and I don't know if I'm getting it all back.
