No, sadly the things I want to be there for are two weeks apart--if they were one week apart I'd totally do a three legged flight or something, but no. Using a conference in Baltimore as an excuse to hang out with friends out there and in DC, and then going to Decadence in New Orleans.

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.
For the first time in my life, I have more money in my savings account than my checking. Neither amount is very large; it's just the proportion that makes me impressed with myself. I actually saved some money!

I was very proud of myself that I managed to bike all the way down the Hudson greenway this afternoon without running over any sailors. Not that I wanted to, mind, but there were SO MANY OF THEM.

Also, Chrome, why are you such a fuckup? I fire it up on my Mac, and everything else grinds to a screeching halt. Everything else. Chrome works just fine.
Chrome grinds everything else to a halt for me but also occasionally grinds itself to a standstill. Why is it so hard to find a browser that is functional and doesn't want to go SkyNet on me?

This evening has been chore city. Cleaned living room, ran laundry, rehung a bunch of pictures, and gathered garbage and recycling. I get so much more done when the kids aren't home.
And I'm not sure what to do about dinner. Did some crock pot chicken with a kicky pineapple sauce. Turns out to have a lot more kick than I can eat. Any ideas on how to offset the habanero?

I am so excited to get small things out of my house, it's getting weird. I am totally going to the party store to return some forks I didn't use at the party, as much so I don't own them any more as for the couple of bucks I'll get back.
