Why Boys “Lose Respect” (Mar, 1964)

Why do some boys feel that a girl who permits them sexual intercourse lowers herself?

A distinguished leader in the field of sex education, Dr. Kirkendall is Professor of Family Life at Oregon State Univ. and author of “Sex Education as Human Relations,” “Premarital Intercourse and Interpersonal Relationships,” and many other writings.

“After that I lost all respect for her.” This is a common reaction on the part of boys after they have had premarital intercourse with a girl.

“Loss of respect” is a loose term, to say the least. As boys use it it may mean almost any unfavorable change in feeling. The phrase is so commonly used, in fact, that loss of respect is often thought to be an inevitable result of premarital intercourse. This is not so.

I totally lost respect for any boys that agreed to have sex with me in the 60s.

I started to keep a phone charger in my bag so I could charge my phone at work if need be.

Also wanted to say that I love those photos Liese and love that you took your kids out to see the eclipse. I tried to get my kids to look at it and they were supremely uninterested. Go figure!

We were on the patio of a restaurant last night and someone had a welding mask. So every one on the Patio was taking turns and people from inside. The restaurant were taking turns too

It was overcast for us, so I didn't see anything. If I could have seen it, I would have seen the sun start to disappear behind the moon as the moon was setting. By the time the moon was halfway covering the sun, they both would have set.

I need to get a car charger for my new phone. Haven't taken it on a car trip, but Summer Is Coming (with road trips) and since I DON'T HAVE TO HAVE WIFI anymore to play on the internet, I know it'll suck the battery dry quicker.

My phone charger stays at home, plugged in.
