Happy anniversary!
I moved twice, quit a job, got laid off twice, dated an a-hole for way too long, lost a grandparent, adopted a dog, changed states of residency, started dating StW... damn, I think that was all in the last three years.
Speaking of anniversaries, my one year NOLAversary is in a few weeks!!
I was half expecting Uma Thurman in a yellow jumpsuit.
I would have capitalized "Bride."
You know, one of the traditional wedding anniversaries ought to be The Yellow Jumpsuit Anniversary. Maybe the 17th?
Apparently I have the habit of changing jobs every 8 years. I was moving last year about this time and I am moving this year. God help me in 2020.
You changed your hair!
I so did.
Certainly I spend less money on my hair now; unfortunately I think I just switched over to spending it on shoes instead...
Yeah, you'd think so, wouldn't you? Somehow it feels less special than I thought it would, more like transitioning from *wannabe* Content Monkey to *actual* content monkey...whoa, where does the time go? At this rate, possibly carpal-tunnel treatment from combining my work life and my sex life. But it probably bothers me more because when I was eighteen, by the time I was thirty-eight, I thought I'd be wondering if I'd get bleeped at the Emmys for telling my rotten guidance counselor to suck it.
take a minute to reflect on how your life has changed in the last eight years.
8 years?? Y'all have been married 8 years?? Wow.
Lemme see...in the past 8 years I have: published a play, directed 30+ plays (!), sang my first solo in a show, finished school, changed careers, been laid off twice, moved, my cat died, adpoted another cat, lost 75 pounds, gained it all back, lost 50 again, my dad had a stroke. Wow. That's a lot.
In the past 8 years I had one baby (had one already), got one cat (had one already), changed jobs twice, moved across state lines twice, bought a house, frog-marched my husband through his PhD, and got a lot of grey hair.
Whoa, my 14th anniversary is in a couple of weeks. Gotta run out and buy some ivory or agate.
A lot has happened since 2004! I fell into VM fandom, got a Master's degree, got my first real job, moved to the Bay Area for my first REAL job, started eating fish, got back into theatre, acted in lots of things, started writing plays, had my work performed, taught a cancer pharmacology workshop, presented on panels at conferences, got a promotion, went to WonderCon and Comic-Con a lot, had lots of celebrity encounters, traveled to Europe twice, bought a new car, took a two-week road trip, discovered a new online community, and...lots of other stuff.
I think I actually joined Buffistas right before the wedding, so...you know what I've been up to. It is all you know of me!
