Angel: You know, I killed my actual dad. It was one of the first things I did when I became a vampire. Wesley: I hardly see how that's the same situation. Angel: Yeah. I didn't really think that one through.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Casper's name keeps on rising - #24 now, it was #88 when we named her! - and Dillo's and mine didn't move much.

Emmett's up to 222, but below Maximus.

flea, you'll be happy to know that there is a Phoebe in Matilda's school, as well as an Anaheed.

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

“Scandal,” the new ABC series created by Shonda Rhimes and starring Kerry Washington, is the first network TV drama with a black female lead character since 1974. That was the year of “Get Christie Love!,” a blaxploitation-inflected crime series starring Teresa Graves—best known for the catchphrase “You’re under arrest, sugar.”

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Black female solo lead, right? Lest we forget Gugu Mbatha-Raw.

Wait, is this real-world child support, where the money goes to buy food for the kids, or MRA fantasyland child support where the women just buy Ferraris and cocaine? -Jessica

We won’t stop until everyone is gay.

One of my trainees had a baby girl named Neveah. It was pronounced how I pronounce Nivea - "nih-VEE-ah." He had the name tattooed on his arm, too. Named his second daughter Paris (not after Hilton).

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

I'm having Chipotle for lunch for the first time in a while. I do not like their new pinto bean recipe.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Black female solo lead, right? Lest we forget Gugu Mbatha-Raw.

I wish that show had been on cable, and could have lasted. It was entertaining! If not very good.

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

Frances is still lingering down near the bottom at #789. It was around #500 when we named her but has been losing traction ever since. So more people named their baby Yareli and Anahi than Frances.

Jesus, the GOP pisses me off.

Now they want to kill the American Community Survey. I can't tell you how many hours I have spent in the last 14 years pouring through the Census website, looking for just that data. It's invaluable for planning purposes, and they want to get rid of it!

God forbid we know what percentage of our population is employed, or living under the poverty line, or owns their own homes, or or or-- ARGH.
