Bon, from what I could tell from trying to understand other people (it's icky--I don't recommend it), up until a few weeks ago, Joss was a genre cult TV writer who couldn't turn a profit. Now he's a mainstream movie director with revenue rivalling Avatar, which is a whole different vibe.
