Sir? I think you have a problem with your brain being missing.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Good lord, Aims. That sounds terrible. When I worked at the daycare center, we had a kid who was clearly troubled, but probably not abused, and staff tried to get the parents to see it, but didn't feel like they could do any more. He wasn't really hurting anyone, but then again, he was four.

My weekend plans include AVENGERS FINALLY, party supply shopping, and family per usual.

Shit's all sorts of different now.

I just don't know what to do. The boy needs help - flat out. But he doesn't come to school bloodied and/or bruised. He is clean and fed and taken care of. For some of the time, he is a beautiful and sweet boy. But, like I say, he needs so much help.

Fandom means never having to say "But where would I wear that?"

Timelies all!

Tomorrow my dance group is performing at the Maryland Faerie Festival. Which has been moved from near Bowie up to Havre de Grace. Which is a minimum hour and a half drive from here. Oh, and we're performing at noon, so we have to be checked in with our dance master by 11:30 am. Sigh...

Friends don't let friends read "Atlas Shrugged"

Jilli, too modest to link? My Google-fu is strong today. Story.

Our wings are not tired.

Oh Aims, that is so difficult and frustrating.

Weekend involves work tomorrow. Sunday a brunch at my house then MIL, friend, and my 3 men are bound for Avengers. Woo!

Have I mentioned here that my parents nicknamed me "Sarah Heartburn?"

Ha! Not a Sarah, but my mom called me that too. For my dramatics apparently.

Friends don't let friends read "Atlas Shrugged"

We got that occasionally ... although I think we used it mostly for the cat; she was distinctly overweight but she'd sit and yearn so that she'd convince you she was thin. And starving.

Because books.

My parents called me Sarah Bernhardt when I was a kid. I wasn't particularly tantrumy or a sore loser, but I was Very Emotionally Intense about everything, apparently.

Fun article, Jilli!

Aims, in CA, we are required to support any suspicion of abuse of any kind, including emotional or just general neglect (and self harm! But not cutting which is not reportable?). When I have reported and it hasn't been a Thing that Needed Reporting, they have told me whether or not it is worth reporting.

In general, better to report than not.
