Stephanie, I did the same when I was in consulting. It's a waste of staff time & energy to be so anal, and it punishes people for doing "non-productive work" like coordinating with coworkers, or reviewing literature.

Yeah, that's why I said "voters."
Ooops, sorry. I only read the last post before responding.
I don't see how they would have support for a Constitutional amendment...
It won't happen.
It won't happen.
I really really hope you are right, but I'm afraid of what will happen if people just assume that instead of fighting to make sure it doesn't.
I just keep the spreadsheet open on my second screen and write down a task when I start it. If I get interrupted then I write down the interruption when it is finished. I've had to do this as an exercise for a few weeks at various jobs. I find it good for managers to see all the different things that get covered in the job. If I had to do it daily for ever - crazy-making.
Also, does what Romney did in high school in 1965 matter?
Mostly it matters because he hasn't evolved at all.
Uggh. John Darnielle (of The Mountain Goats) had some great tweets on the whole situation - [link]
So go ahead and hate on my home if you must. And hate more on 30 other states where wonderful people gave blood & sweat to work for freedom
Or you can do as we will do in North Carolina & roll up your sleeves, & know that their hateful efforts are an attempt to hold back the sea.
Ugh msbelle. Maybe you can track things on a more relaxed scale? I mean talking to coworkers is also part of maintaining a good work environment, and everyone needs a bit of down time as they move from one task to another, you just need to fold that time into the activities that you are actually tracking.
also? just think how much time you can save now that you basically need to ignore "helpful" coworker so you can focus more on work.
And I just got two different emails from two different organizations. Apparently the House is voting on a bill, likely to pass, that strips a lot of protections and benefits from immigrant victims of domestic violence. With all that is wrong in this country, why are we protecting abusers and stripping benefits from victimized women and children (and a few men)? It's just depressing.
Oh, and I heard on NPR this morning that Republicans in Congress want to fix the Pentagon budget issues by cutting medicaid and food stamps. Seriously, again, crushing hungry women and children without health insurance for the benefit of the powerful. Seriously, so depressing.
Uggghhhh. And seriously, where is Jesus in all of that? I'm pretty sure Jesus cared more about feeding the hungry, clothing the naked, etc., than anyone's sex lives or family configuration.
Oh, I'm sorry I think I misunderstood msbelle. So part of your intention is to demonstrate how often your coworkers are the ones keeping you from completing tasks? I thought you were being asked to record your time.
Jesse is a radical, pass it on.
