What I remember now is how hard my parents fought to try and keep me alive. Mac is lucky to have you. You are a good mom. He will remember how hard you fought for him and feel blessed by it.

And in my OY! news, I have a student who skipped class for five weeks and didn't turn in the last 3 assignments. Now he wants an incomplete, and I can't give it to him. Frankly don't want to either. So he keeps sending me long, plaintive emails. Dude, should have put those writing skills to work *during* the semester.
msbelle, I have worked with a LOT of troubled kids and you ARE a good mom. I know it doesn't always feel like it, especially when a child is hurting, acting out, being hurtful to you. But you are doing the right thing, and the right thing can suck to the utmost.
I have seen some shitty parents. You ARE NOT ONE OF THEM.
Take care of yourself. By doing so, you can care for Mac. I wish you lived closer, so I could actively help out.
