Mal: Yeah, well, just be careful. We cheated Badger out of good money to buy that frippery, and you're supposed to make me look respectable. Kaylee: Yes, sir, Captain Tightpants.

Remember that the frontier of the Rebellion is everywhere. And even the smallest act of insurrection pushes our lines forward.

So, is this going to kill Android?

Oracle corp. is one of the most parasitical companies in existence. It wants to suck as much money from its victims as it can, but it is smart enough not to kill its hosts.

"It didn't taste good. It tasted soooo horrible. It tasted like....a vodka martini." - Matilda

Probably the only way I'd read 50 Shades of Grey would be if hell is a giant waiting room and it's the only reading material. I have, however, been disturbed by a number of articles I've read about it that claim its popularity is because women have a secret desire to have someone take control of their lives and make all the decisions for them. Eeeewww.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

It wants to suck as much money from its victims as it can, but it is smart enough not to kill its hosts.

So the price will go up.

Republicans! Get in my Vagina!

I look more rad than Lutheranism

Teppy let me check the menu--is there any way you could order and pay for mine separate? I know that's a pain, but that way I can expense it. (they're apparently shitty about expensing part of a group order, sadly)

I'm pretty sure I can. They're fairly chill there. We are headed out the door in about 10 minutes, and should be at Chez Casa du Familia Flea by 6:45, assuming traffic is fine.

50 Shades of Suck

That's rather excellent.

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

So the price will go up.

So I should buy an Android phone now? Or not at all?

Oh, decisions are so hard! Won't some big strong man come and make all mine for me? @@

Still pondering that dream. Messed with my head.

Wait, is this real-world child support, where the money goes to buy food for the kids, or MRA fantasyland child support where the women just buy Ferraris and cocaine? -Jessica

Let's play "Spot the male privilege" with this little nugget:

While Yauch didn't do it alone, Oscilloscope's temperament seemed to spring from him, a gentleman who had become famous first for making juvenile raps on Licensed to Ill but realized he had to grow up and evolve. That's why it was impossible to take seriously some people's complaints that Bellflower was misogynistic: Yauch, who renounced the Beasties' early sexism by rapping, "I want to say a little something that's long overdue/The disrespect to women has got to be through" on "Sure Shot," would never have released such a movie if he thought it was anti-female.

I was just thinking, the saddest part of MCA's death is that now the arbiter of what is misogynist is gone, and how will we ever now know when to criticize a film for misogyny?

So my neighbors next door have a contract on their house for $500 over asking (there were two offers, both knew it and this guy automatically offered more whereas the other never offered asking after two counters.) I think that's a good sign. Asking was what asking was for mine 3 years ago, but the market is still a little soft, but apparently still competitive? J said the guy just fell in love with the place, so I have high hopes it'll be another good neighbor.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

In the Google/Oracle case, AFAIK we're still waiting for the judge to decide if API's can be copyrightable at all - the jury was instructed to proceed as if they are, so that they could come to a decision, but the whole thing could still be thrown out.
