All right, yes, date and shop and hang out and go to school and save the world from unspeakable demons. You know, I wanna do girlie stuff!

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

You do deserve it, Maria. Everybody needs a little unconditional love.

ETA Although I must admit meara raises a good point about the serial killer.

brillig

I think it's Hound of the Baskervilles that has the woman weeping in grief over the death of her murdering brother, and Watson muses that it's a sad individual who doesn't have at least one person to cry for them.

Not so nice is that I'm about to ruin a Friday morning for a bunch of people because of a series of unfortunate events and an upset foreign government. - shrift

How can I be wrong about some people and right about others?

I have done many reprehensible things, but I am most certainly not a serial killer. Thank you, meara, for giving me some perspective.

That man was going to shank me. Over an omelette. Two eggs and a slice of government cheese. Is that what my life is worth?

How can I be wrong about some people and right about others?

I think that's more about them than it is about you. I mean, I can meet people, think they're cool, trust that they're being truthful with me. But if they're not? That's their shortcoming. Not mine. I just readjust my opinion when I get more information. Sometimes that readjustment sucks hairy donkey balls.

Post Toasties:

So, I'm back at work today and not entirely sure I should be. And, while I knew sickness was on the rise at my school, it seems it's been bad enough that they did a antibacterial fog of the entire building Tuesday night in order to kill of some microscopic critters.

I look more rad than Lutheranism

they did a antibacterial fog of the entire building Tuesday night in order to kill of some microscopic critters.

Dang. That's a real thing? Like bug-bombing for roaches, only...bug-bombing?

meara - May 03, 2012 7:36:56 am PDT #3601 of 30001

I didn't know they could DO that with antibacterial stuff, ChiKat! I wonder why the OCD among us are not ALL OVER THAT.

How can I be wrong about some people and right about others?

What ChiKat said--that has more to do with them being good enough to fool you about their true colors. Or in some cases, maybe not their true colors but their weakest moments. When someone is being a jerk to you and previously you thought they were a stand-up kinda person, it rarely has anything to do with you, eh?

Glad to hear you're not a serial killer. You never know about those internet people and their axes...

This.

In awesome news: nachos for lunch! Cinco de Mayo (observed) in the cafeteria! Woot.

We are Buffistas. This isn't our first apocalypse. -- Pix

ChiKat is very wise.

Maria, let Buffistas care for you.

And Liese, that's a beautiful blanket, what a wonderful thing to do.

As for flash drives, that's what I call them, although sometimes I'll say USB drive if I think the other person doesn't know what I mean.

I had cramps during the night and woke up for extra Ibuprofen, and then had to sleep an extra couple of hours (does anyone else find that sometimes Ibuprofen makes you sleepy?); as a result, I'm an hour late to work and I actually bought a cafe au lait on the way in.

... I wonder why we call it "cafe au lait" and not "caffe con leche" or even "coffee with milk". American language-use is weird.

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

does anyone else find that sometimes Ibuprofen makes you sleepy?

600 mgs of ibuprofen will have me wanting a nap, for sure.
