le nubian, I don't know where you are, but if time is not of the essence, could you use the movers from the Delancey Street Foundation? I used them for a cross country move and for a car (two separate things) and things went fine.

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

Sniff -- no one asked me to work on the blanket. But given my track record for getting things done on time, you'd still be waiting for it.

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

Sparky,

I have never heard of them. I will investigate.

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

Theo,

part of the problem. I have no younger relatives by blood except 3rd and 4th cousins who I never see.

Beau has a youngest sister who I would not trust to drive my car around a college town for a day much less across country. Although, maybe my assessment of her is in error.

We'd still need another car to transport.

All I know is that Clark Howard recommends using movers that are members of the American Moving and Storage Association's ProMover program [link] which does seem to include some vehicle movers.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Movingscam.com has some recommendations.

hip deep in pie

Sigh. I went to the doctor this AM to talk about all the anxiety and stress I have been having, mostly due to work. It was a really hard step for me to take...I am not really good about asking for help. My doctor was great to talk to and we discussed all my options for treatment, but mostly we agreed that counselling of some kind would be good for me. Since my work has an employee assistance program that provides counselling, and since most of my anxiety seems to be work related, she suggested I start there, mostly because it's free for however long it lasts. I come home, call EAP and first, get a phone tree. I make it through the tree and get voicemail!!! WTF! What kind of counselling program is this.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

Unscientific poll - do you say:

  • USB key
  • Thumb drive
  • Flash drive
